Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many of us have had a lot more downtime for self-care and to explore the things that make us happy. For body-positive vocalist, Lizzo, this time has afforded her the opportunity to do a deep dive into wellness.
The “Good As Hell” singer hopped on TikTok to share her super sweaty workout regimen with her fans. From her super cute workout attire to her extensive routine that includes biking, jumping rope and everything in between, it’s no wonder the “Truth Hurts” lyricist is able to put on some intense and commanding performances.
Now, Lizzo has overhauled her diet for a plant based lifestyle.
Lizzo began her vegan journey this summer
While some of us have become solely dependent on takeout, Lizzo began her plant-based lifestyle earlier this summer. On June 26, the Detroit native shared the beginning of her journey on TikTok.
“As a new vegan I’m enjoying exploring flavors from plants & plant based proteins!” she posted next to a video. “Every journey is personal & deserves to be celebrated.”
The singer then went on to give fans a glimpse of some of the things she’s been loving within her new journey. They include tons of yummy smoothies and massive salads. She narrated,
This is not every day, but this is a pretty average one. This is a breakfast smoothie I like to make with coconut water, whatever kale and spinach I have, and frozen fruit. This is a salad I love to make. This one has kale, some red cabbage, broccoli, a slice of avocado, some white onion, and some carrots.
Lizzo eats this treat instead of her old favorite snack
Prior to beginning her planet-based lifestyle, Lizzo was obsessed with Hot Cheetos. Unfortunately, they aren’t plant-based and don’t fit into her vegan lifestyle.
Thankfully who all of us who have dietary restrictions but still adore Cheetos, Lizzo have discovered an alternative. “For this snack I had this hummus from the farmer’s market,” Lizzo revealed along with a bag of vegan paleo puff snacks. “I used to eat a bunch of hot Cheetos, but that was not good for my acid reflux. So these are a Cheeto alternative I love that is vegan and I dip it in, bada-boom bada-snack.”
Lizzo’s favorite vegan dessert sounds decadent
Lizzo has shared several other favorite vegan meals and snacks including mushroom balls. However, if we’re being honest, we’re all about the sweet stuff. In fact, the Cuz I Love You crooner’s favorite dessert is an epic remix on your favorite childhood snack.
The Hustlers actor shared her peanut butter and jelly smoothie recipe and we can already taste it. “Peanut butter and jelly smoothie, using peanut butter, frozen strawberries, oat, oak milk, a vanilla protein powder, and love from Jesus. So that was my day, I feel very good. I feel lit and full,” she gushed.
Honestly, with Lizzo on our side as well as the epic Tabitha Brown, vegan life doesn’t sound too bad.
