Amy Roloff is starting 2020 with a stellar attitude and exciting new opportunities, but it hasn’t been easy for the Little People, Big World star. Amy and Matt Roloff used to be married, and they shared the spotlight with their four kids on the show. Nowadays, most of their children have taken a step out of the reality TV spotlight. And all eyes have been on Amy since she announced she was moving off of Roloff Farms for good.

Now, she’s getting herself established in her new home. And she’s also looking forward to a future with her fiancé, Chris Marek. At the end of 2019, she got candid with her Facebook followers about what she’s expecting out of her future with Marek — and it seems she’s a little worried about some of the adjustments they’ll have to make. Here’s what Amy mentioned.

Amy Roloff is preparing for a wedding to her fiancé Chris Marek

Matt and Amy have both pursued long-term relationships after their marriage. And it looks like Amy is ready to tie the knot once again. She’s been with Marek for three years, and at the end of September 2019, he proposed.

“Guess what! I wanted to share with you- I’m engaged!” Amy announced on Instagram along with a sweet photo of her engagement ring. “I was so surprised when Chris asked me to marry him. I said YES. I couldn’t be happier and so looking forward to this new part of our life journey together. I’m blessed. Love you Chris.”

Marek and Amy appear to get along quite well, and LPBW fans are warming up to the idea of him being in her life permanently. But during a Facebook Live video posted at the end of December 2019, Amy let her followers know it could be awhile until the wedding actually happens.

“2021 is the date that we’re gonna do,” Amy said.

She chose not to purchase her new house with him

Many newlyweds look at buying a home together, but Amy’s doing things differently for her second marriage. After living on the farm for several decades, it took a lot of searching before she chose the perfect new place for her to settle down. Eventually, she chose a home in a neighborhood just 15 minutes away from Roloff Farms. And while Marek was her realtor who assisted in the process, he wasn’t involved in buying the home at all.

Back in July 2019, Amy took to Facebook Live once again to talk about moving. At this point, she knew she was leaving Roloff Farms, but she didn’t know exactly where she’d end up. One thing was for sure, though — and that was that she would be the sole owner of her home.

“Yes, this will be my home. It’s using my resources. And if, you know, whatever happens to Chris and we do get married or whatever it is, then, you know, he and I will work those things out at the time,” she told her followers.

Now that Amy is getting settled into her new place, she shared more details with her social media followers during a Facebook Live video with her friend, Lisa. Not only did she talk about her upcoming wedding in 2021, but she also mentioned some of the challenges she anticipates facing with Marek now that they’re getting hitched and she’s off Roloff Farms.

On the Facebook video, Lisa asked Amy about the home setup. “What about Chris? How is this going to work with the two of you? Has he already kind of said, ‘This is gonna be my area’? Does he have, like, a little man cave set up?” Lisa asked.

“I think the biggest thing for me working on it, and, you know, maybe for him too, is that, you know, he’s been single for quite some time, and I have too … but going to this new house, I have a tendency to say, ‘this is what I do’ or ‘I want to do this’ … I have to incorporate again the ‘we,'” Amy suggested. “This is ours, This is what we’re doing … incorporating the ‘we’ into all of this. I’m trying to help him to say, ‘Ok, I didn’t mean that, let’s just chill.'”

Despite any conflicts that may arise, Amy also noted it’s going to be “fun” to learn more about Marek as she embarks on this new house journey. He may not own the property, but it seems he’ll certainly be living there. We’re excited for Amy’s journey and to hear in 2020!
