Little People, Big World fans know all about Amy Roloff’s big move off of Roloff Farms. While Matt and Amy lived together on the farm property for the entirety of their marriage, it’s the end of an era post-divorce, as Amy bought a new place.

While talking to Matt about the house, Amy reminisced about the home. And she brought up all the remodeling they did together on her farmhouse from years prior. Here’s what happened.

Matt and Amy Roloff from ‘Little People, Big World’ bought Roloff Farms 30 years ago

It’s hard to believe Matt and Amy Roloff lived together on Roloff Farms for three decades. The couple raised their four children on the farm, and it was featured in every season of LPBW. Now only that, but their fans adore the farm, too. Every year, Matt and Amy open their land to the public for pumpkin season.

Back in July 2020, Amy posted a video to YouTube talking about the origins of Roloff Farms. “We decided to move to Oregon,” Amy explained. “We bought a 21-acre farm, and I chose to be a stay-at-home mom to raise our family.” Amy continued on and explained how she and Matt “added an additional 12 acres” to the property. Years later, the couple purchased “a 75-acre farm property right next door to make a total of 108 acres” owned by the both of them.

Ultimately, Amy ended up selling her half of Roloff Farms to Matt for a little over $600,000.

It took Amy months to fully move her things out of her Roloff Farms home. In Season 21 Episode 5, Matt came over to the farmhouse to check out Amy’s progress. And they started off their conversation by discussing the possibility of their son, Zach Roloff, taking over Amy’s home.

“It was a good house,” Matt explained.

“It was,” Amy added. “It was a great house. It was a great place to raise the kids and everything.”

Matt then explained that the house “expanded as the family needed more space.” And that’s when Amy brought up the number of remodels they did on the home. In total, they remodeled four times.

“The first one was before we ever even moved in,” Matt recollected. And he then told the cameras building the farmhouse was a “labor of love” right from the start.

“As the family grew, the house, we just kept expanding it and making it more suitable for the size of the family,” he added. “As crazy as it was having all these remodels happen all these years, this house really became the center of the family. Even with the tough times, I think everybody’s going to remember this house with very fond memories.”

While speaking to Amy, Matt mentioned his current plans with the farm — and it seems she’s still upset with how everything went down. Amy made it known she felt rushed by Matt to find a new place to live and move off the farm ASAP.

“I don’t personally feel like I got a lot of sympathy of what I was going through all of last year, making that decision to move, looking for a house that was suitable,” Amy told the cameras. She then explained that for all the rushing around she did, she finds it “ironic” that Matt still doesn’t have a concrete plan in regards to what to do with her farmhouse.

“Maybe I haven’t used the right words over the years,” Matt told the cameras. “That makes me feel bad.”

We’ll be interested to see what becomes of Roloff Farms now that Amy is completely focused on her new place.
