‘LPBW’: Fans Are Majorly Judging Jacob Roloff After Amy Roloff Posts About His ‘Van Life’
A ton has happened over the years on Little People, Big World. While Matt and Amy Roloff started the show as a couple happily married, they split years ago. Now, Amy’s still working on moving all of her belongings off of Roloff Farms, but she keeps her followers updated on what’s going on.
While Amy gives plenty of updates regarding her home, her engagement, and her adventures in the kitchen, she also provided fans with some info regarding her youngest son, Jacob. Jacob notoriously left the show behind, and it caused serious controversy at the time. Now, he’s setting off on the road with his wife, Isabel — and fans are majorly judging his “van life.”
Jacob Roloff left ‘Little People, Big World’ with a bang
Out of Matt and Amy’s four kids, Zach Roloff is the only one who’s decided to stay on the show full-time. But Jacob made the biggest splash upon leaving. He created an Instagram post about how his family became “caricatures” on the show, and it was hard for him to both watch and participate. For that reason, he left — and he also stated he’ll never return.
“For me, noticing how the agenda of the crew doesn’t work well with the health & happiness of our family is what made me decide quite a while ago that I would not be a part of it as soon as I was able,” Jacob wrote on Instagram back in July 2016. “They are the Roloff Characters and I have scarcely anything in common with them, nor do I want to be a character myself.”

Jacob has maintained his promise of never returning to the show. While Jeremy and Molly also aren’t regulars on LPBW, they’ll still pop in with guest appearances every once in awhile — but Jacob hasn’t. Despite his absence on TV, Matt and Amy still keep their social media followers informed when it comes to what Jacob’s up to. And Amy recently posted about her son’s decision to live a wild and free life on the road with his wife, Isabel, whom he married in September 2019.
“And they’re off! Going to miss these two everyday @jacobroloff45 and @isabelsofiarock. They’re back on the road, van life, and looking for a home for one day soon,” Amy captioned her Instagram post of her with her son and daughter-in-law on May 22. Before Jacob left, Amy noted he stopped by for Mother’s Day, and she cooked them a “Dutch baby pancake” before they were off.
It looks like Jacob and Isabel also visited Matt before leaving, too. He posted a photo with the two of them on Roloff Farms along with the caption, “uncle Jacob and Aunt Izzy were out on the back acres getting ready to head out on one of their road trips ….”
Amy’s followers are confused about Jacob’s living situation
Matt and Amy are certainly proud of their son, but Amy’s followers expressed confusion regarding Jacob’s decision to live a life on the road.
“I want more for Jacob and so do Isabel’s parents, most likely,” one follower commented. “Give it till the end of summer then find a job.”
“How do they make a living on the road ?” another asked.
“They live in a van and are unemployed? Goals,” yet another wrote.
Some followers are showing their support for Jacob and Isabel, though. “OMG how rude of people expressing their thoughts and opinion about this couple. Why all the traveling? Why don’t they work? I want more for these two… Is their life people!!!” a follower commented back.
There’s one thing for sure — and that’s that Jacob is always going to venture down the road less traveled. We’re excited to hear more about where he and Isabel end up!
