The new season of Little People, Big World is premiering at the end of March 2020, and fans can’t wait to see what the Roloffs are getting into now. We know last season ended with Amy Roloff making a major life decision about her living situation. Now, she’s all moved into her new home just 15 minutes away from Roloff Farms property. As for Matt, he’s still on the farm — but he might be making moves to step away.

On March 9, 2020, Matt posted some of his plans regarding a new home to his Instagram Story. And it’s making us wonder if this newly built structure will be on the farm or somewhere totally different. Here’s what he posted.

Matt Roloff has already posted plans about building a new home

Matt’s talked about moving off of Roloff Farms for quite some time. While the farm is where he and Amy lived when their kids were growing up, a ton has changed since then. Their divorce may have soured some of the happy farm memories, and all of the Roloff kids are married with their own families to take care of.

“There’s part of me that wants to keep the farm and build a house that suits me, but part of me just wants to sell the farm and liquidate it and move on,” Matt once said about the iconic property. “It’s a burden.”

Matt’s been dropping hints on his Instagram that he’s planning on building a totally new home, too. Having a blast working on designing the ultimate @mattroloff project,” Matt captioned a post from Jan. 30. “Last week I attended the #ibs2020 (international builders show) to get all the latest and greatest construction ideas. … Now it’s time to express some pent-up creativity.”

Jeremy Roloff dropped hints he’s interested in taking over Roloff Farms

Fans adore Roloff Farms, and they’ve expressed that the show wouldn’t be the same without it. Not only do fans love it, but the Roloff grandkids adore it, too. While Matt might not stay on the property forever, it seems his son, Jeremy, might be making moves to own it himself.

“Growing up on a farm the passion for land has never left me,” Jeremy captioned an Instagram post from July 2019. “Auj and I have been working very hard to be able to acquire one someday and visiting the Mona farm was a big encouragement in our efforts.”

Jeremy then went on to tell one of his followers owning Roloff Farms would be “very expensive” and possibly not feasible to own. But he may have changed his tune. He posted photos with him and his daughter on another farm back in August 2019. And he told a follower owning Roloff Farms now “totally is an option.”

Matt posted even more house-building plans to his Instagram Story

It looks like the house-building plans are really coming along. On March 9, Matt posted photos to his Instagram Story showing him creating the layout of his home on his laptop. And the house he’s dreaming of looks massive and beautiful.

“Layed with my new house plans for a few hours,” he captioned one of the photos showing the possible interior of the home. “Decided I really needed to simplify a few roof line areas.” He then noted he went to the “local window distributor” to see what they had and “made adjustments” as necessary to the plan.

The house plans look beautiful — but it doesn’t look like it’s a home that would be built on the farm. Instead, it looks like it might belong in a warmer climate. We know Matt and his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, frequently visit Surprise, Arizona, which is where Matt also owns property. We wouldn’t be surprised if he ditches Oregon completely and moves to the much-warmer state where he can act on his house-building dreams.
