The show’s final season won’t just be the last time fans get to see Tom Ellis sit at a piano. It’s also the culmination of six years of drama. Neither Lucifer nor Chloe can deny their romantic feelings any longer, especially after Lucifer rescued Chloe from heaven after her untimely death. How will Lucifer maintain his relationship with the human woman as he prepares to ascend and takeover heaven? Fans remember the final battle against Lucifer’s twin Michael, in which Chloe’s ex-husband, Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro), died. His ultimate sacrifice will no doubt have a ripple effect into the last season.

However, there are plenty of other character arcs to wrap up. How will the writers leave Linda (Rachael Harris), Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), and their son Charlie, who is only human after all? What about Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and her crush on Eve (Inbar Lavi), who returned in the show’s fifth season after having spent time as a bounty hunter?

Tom Ellis opens up about the music on ‘Lucifer’

Tom Ellis recently appeared in a promotional clip for IMDb in which fans had a chance to hear the actor answer their most burning questions. One of the questions Ellis was happy to answer was about his favorite song performance from the show. He quickly responded that he enjoyed season four’s version of “Creep” by Radiohead. The cover was more hanging and ambient than even the original version. However, for Ellis, the significance of including the song in the series hinged on its relevance to Lucifer and Chloe’s relationship. He finally got to play the song that fit the pair perfectly.

TV Guide compiled everything we knew about Lucifer before the season premiere. Lucifer is seemingly in no hurry to take over the throne of God, instead spending time with Chloe, who resigned from the force to focus on helping him on Earth. Surprisingly, Lucifer’s angelic sibling Amenadiel has taken up the mantle. Perhaps Lucifer will pair up with his brother to offer more of his trademark investigative insight.

Of course, Lucifer’s last season wouldn’t be complete without some surprises. Netflix teased an animated episode described as “simultaneously the lightest and darkest episode we have ever done. And that the story connects to something from all the way back in the pilot,” by co-showrunner Joe Henderson to TV Guide. Plus, Netflix has promised both new and returning characters. That’s a lot to look forward to!

So what are you waiting for? If you haven’t started Lucifer’s final season, it’s your last chance to enjoy more of Lucifer’s musical talent.
