Danielle and Alex form a close-knit bond

In Maid Season 1 Episode 2, titled “Ponies,” Alex and Maddy enter the shelter for domestic abuse survivors. But, Maddy is having a hard time adjusting to the new scenery. So, Danielle brings Alex’s daughter a bag full of ponies to cheer her up.

The two form a close bond by connecting through their past experiences. When Alex lost custody of her daughter, Danielle showed her full support. During their discussion, Alex revealed a client from Miss V’s Value Maids never paid her for a cleaning job. In the previous episode, Regina (Anika Noni Rose) hired Alex to clean her house. But, she refused to pay her for the bad cleaning job.

So, Danielle agreed to accompany Alex to the clients’ house and demand the paycheck. Although Regina wasn’t home, Danielle stole her dog. After Regina reclaimed the dog, she paid Alex for her cleaning service. When Alex returned to the shelter, Danielle was gone. The shelter owner, Denise (BJ Harrison), revealed that Danielle left and went back to her abusive boyfriend.

In the fifth episode, Danielle and Alex cross paths. But, she is accompanied by her abusive boyfriend. Even though they see each other, Danielle pretends not to know Alex. After the encounter, viewers never see Danielle again.
