‘Married at First Sight’: Alyssa Returns for Decision Day, Says ‘This Wasn’t the Easiest Process’
Alyssa is back. The controversial Married at First Sight Season 14 bride and her ex-husband Chris both returned for the show’s Decision Day episode, where they shared updates on what they’ve been up to since their acrimonious split earlier this season.

Chis and Alyssa left ‘Married at First Sight’ earlier this season
For most Married at First Sight couples, Decision Day is the moment of truth. That’s when they have to make a choice about whether to stay married or get a divorce. But for one season 14 couple, that choice had already been made.
Alyssa and Chris went their separate ways shortly after their honeymoon. Chris, a realtor, asked Alyssa, a social media manager, for a divorce after she refused to move into the apartment they were supposed to share. She tried to negotiate an agreement where they would split their time in the apartment, with each living there separately for a few weeks. He wasn’t interested in that arrangement and decided to end the marriage.
Alyssa admits that appearing on ‘Married at First Sight’ was not what she expected
Since deciding to divorce, Chris and Alyssa have been mostly absent from Married at First Sight Season 14. But both returned in the May 11 episode. They joined the other four couples – all of whom had decided to stay married – for a reunion shortly after Decision Day.
“It is very, very good to see everybody,” Chris said. “I’m excited to be back. I’m excited to be here.” But he added, “I’m not really excited to see Alyssa.”
Alyssa also didn’t seem thrilled to see her ex. She conspicuously avoided him when she greeted the other cast members.
“I have not spoken to Chris at all,” she admitted during a confessional. Later, she told the other season 14 participants that her time on MAFS didn’t live up to her expectations.
“This wasn’t the easiest process for me,” she said. “And, you know, I’m disappointed that it didn’t go the way that I hoped. But I’ve just been having a really good summer.”
Chris says he’s dating again after split from Alyssa
Chris also didn’t have the Married at First Sight experience of his dreams. But he apparently didn’t let his bad experience keep him down for long. He jumped back into dating not long after his split from Alyssa.
“Life has been calmer. You don’t quite have that stress or anxiety all day,” he said of life post-Alyssa. “Feeling like you’re having to push through things. But things have been really, really good. I’ve since started dating again.”
That news earned him cheers from the rest of the MAFS Season 14 participants.
“Chris is thriving,” Lindsey said in a confessional. “It sounds like after going through this process he realized how great he is. And what he brings to the table and what he doesn’t want.”
The two-part Married at First Sight Season 14 reunion airs May 18 and May 25 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
