Amber Bowles, a teacher from Charlotte, North Carolina, and Matt Gwynne, a former basketball player, had a tumultuous, ill-fated marriage on Lifetime’s Married at First Sight season 9.

After their season wrapped, Amber and Matt continued to be at odds – most infamously on the reunion special, Married at First Sight: Where Are They Now? in April 2020. Amber repeatedly called out her ex-husband for allegedly cheating on her during their brief marriage, as well as for reportedly refusing to sign the divorce papers for quite some time.

In a recent interview with Domenick Nati of The Domenick Nati Show, Amber revealed the latest details about her love life, as well as the ongoing conflicts with Matt that she just couldn’t seem to shake entirely.

Amber revealed she was taking things slow with her new boyfriend

First things first: Amber and Matt, she told Nati, were finally officially divorced. The Married at First Sight star was also more than happy with her boyfriend of nine months, Adrian, whom she met on the dating app Hinge.

Amber explained that Adrian worked as an editor for Channel 9 News in Charlotte. The two of them were planning to move into Amber’s new home together within a year – but they wanted to take things slow.

“I feel like there’s no rush, because I’ve done that once,” Amber said of the prospect of marriage to her new man. “I just got divorced.” The Married at First Sight star’s boyfriend had also been married and divorced in the past, so he wasn’t rushing anything either.

The ‘Married at First Sight’ star didn’t think Matt was capable of monogamy

As for the last time she’d spoken to Matt, Amber told Nati the estranged couple hadn’t talked in person since the Married at First Sight: Where Are They Now? special in April. He did try to message her “something mean” on Facebook – to the tune of “stop talking s*it about me,” according to Amber – but she didn’t respond.

After Amber’s difficult marriage to Matt, which allegedly included several instances of infidelity on his end, Nati wanted to know if she thought her ex could ever be monogamous. While the Married at First Sight star didn’t completely rule out the possibility for Matt in the future, she did accuse him of dating at least two women at the same time – in her apartment complex and her boyfriend’s, no less.

“Every time I would be in my apartment pool, I would see him, and every time I would be in my boyfriend’s apartment pool, I would see him,” Amber complained. “It’s like I couldn’t escape him for a whole summer. It was awful.”

While Amber denied any allegations of Matt “stalking” her, she did think he might have sought out women who lived near her out of “spite.”

“He knows exactly where I live, so he knew what he was doing,” Amber argued.

What’s more, Amber revealed, she wasn’t the only one who had stories about Matt’s alleged philandering.

“You don’t understand how many messages I got from ex-girlfriends after the show aired,” the Married at First Sight star claimed. All of the women in question claimed Matt cheated, and many of them called him a “player,” a “liar,” and a “sleaze,” said Amber.

Matt’s ex rated sex with him at a 2 out of 10

While Matt and Amber effectively ended their marriage just a few weeks into the show, they did consummate their relationship during the honeymoon and a few times afterward. Nati wanted to know what the former couple’s sex life had been like.

“Honestly, we didn’t really have sex that much,” Amber admitted. She explained that they did have sex a few times, but it was so long ago at this point that it was hard for her to remember.

When Nati asked Amber to rate sex with Matt out of 10, she confessed bluntly that it certainly wouldn’t get a high rating.

“It wasn’t memorable, so what does that say?” the Married at First Sight season 9 star laughed. “What is that number? Like a 2?”

Luckily, Amber said she’d been able to move on from Matt that much more effectively because their relationship was such a disaster. As for any women who wanted to date Matt in the future, she had just three words of advice: “Good luck, ladies.”
