Clara and Ryan mostly got along. But one of their problems in their marriage had to do with sex. Clara was ready to be intimate since she saw sex as mostly a physical thing. Ryan wanted to take time to build an emotional connection first, so they waited.

But Clara wasn’t happy about this. Mostly because Ryan couldn’t give her a timeline of when he’d be ready, he also wasn’t giving her concrete ways he’d be able to build an emotional connection with her.

Conversations around her sexual frustrations took a turn when she revealed to other Married at First Sight brides that she was “getting Ryan off every night,” but he wouldn’t have intercourse with her.

Clara also voiced her need to hear “I love you” from her husband by six months, or she’d leave. The couple still hasn’t had sex, and Ryan hasn’t said “I love you,” but Decision Day is coming.

Clara makes a big change on Decision Day in a sneak peek

The whole season showed the couple on different pages when it came to sex and saying, “I love you.” So it’s not surprising they revisit those issues on Decision Day with all three experts. TV Insider shared a sneak peek of this conversation.

“So we definitely are taking things slower than I think most people do. After he explained it a couple of times, I get where he’s coming from, and I realize, ‘Is this the hill I’m willing to die on? No.’” Clara said.

She said waiting a few months doesn’t matter if it leads to being married for 50 years. That’s a big change from earlier episodes. They were then asked what kind of words of affirmation they have given to each other.

Clara said they still haven’t said, “I love you.” Ryan said, “I don’t think I’ve been shy about the fact that my trust and that building is slow. I knew mentally that is a work in progress. That will always be a work in progress for me.”

It sounds like Clara has made peace with their lack of a fulfilling sex life, and Ryan still struggles with meeting Clara emotionally. Fans will have to watch to see if they’ll decide to stay married or divorce. Married at First Sight airs on Wednesdays on Lifetime starting at 8 p.m. EST.
