‘Married at First Sight’: Dr. Pepper Tells Paige That Chris Is a ‘Narcissist’; A Former Cast Member Reacts

Fans of Lifetime’s ‘Married at First Sight,’ as well as a former ‘Married at First Sight’ cast member, recently headed to social media to sound off on Dr. Pepper Schwartz’s comments about Chris Williams and Paige Banks.

Paige Banks and Chris Williams seemed like a doomed match from the beginning to many fans of Lifetime’s Married at First Sight Season 12 in Atlanta. After two bouts of passionate wedding night sex, Chris hastily revealed to his new bride that he wasn’t physically attracted to her. Soon afterward, Paige found out that Chris’s ex-fiancée was just six weeks pregnant.

Finally, after quite a bit of back and forth, Paige and Chris decided to get a divorce. In a new sneak peek of an upcoming episode, Married at First Sight expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz told Paige what she really thought of Chris in no uncertain terms. But some Married at First Sight fans – and even a former cast member – weren’t too pleased with Dr. Pepper’s remarks.

Dr. Pepper Schwartz told Paige Banks that Chris Williams was a ‘narcissist’

In a Married at First Sight sneak peek, Dr. Pepper was blunt with Paige about her opinion of Chris as a person and as a husband.

“You’re the superior human being,” she told Paige, seemingly comparing her to Chris. “If he wasn’t such an extraordinary narcissist – I’m not going to mince words on my opinion – he would recognize that. I don’t want you to take that garbage.” (Paige giggled knowingly in response.)

Dr. Pepper went on to urge Paige to move on from Chris permanently and not to entertain his manipulative moves anymore.

“And so many women, particularly under these kind of these circumstances, take it on themselves, that somehow they weren’t ‘something’ enough,” the Married at First Sight expert said. “That is not the lesson to get here, because you deserve so much better.”

Kate Sisk called Dr. Pepper out on social media

Kate Sisk, who notoriously married Luke Cuccurullo on Married at First Sight Season 8 in Philadelphia, has been open about how she feels she was mistreated by Lifetime producers and Married at First Sight experts. Luke famously told Kate that he was “repulsed” by her and felt “dead inside” after having sex with her.

In turn, Kate recently argued that Married at First Sight producers seemed to pair her with someone who was unfit for marriage on purpose. Naturally, then, she wasn’t impressed with Dr. Pepper’s comments to Paige.

“She didn’t want a lesson @dr_pepper_schwartz, she wanted a husband,” Kate wrote regarding Paige on Instagram. “Narcissism is one of the most common personality disorders… any therapist can see it immediately. This match was such BS.”

Several Married at First Sight fans jumped in to agree with the former cast member.

“I don’t know how that guy even got in,” one viewer wrote, referring to Chris. “They should have seen all his red flags. Dude is a mess! He is an overgrown toddler. Way too fickle to be committing to anything.”

Another fan agreed, writing: “If anyone should understand it’s you girl! They matched you with a narcissist!”

‘Married at First Sight’ fans had mixed reactions to Dr. Pepper’s comments

Meanwhile, some Married at First Sight fans were just worried that Paige wouldn’t listen to Dr. Pepper. After all, Chris and Paige broke up and got back together several times in just a few short weeks of marriage.

“She knows what Dr. Pepper is saying is true,” one fan wrote. “Somehow I think it’s just going in one ear and out the next…😔…Know your worth Paige!”

Another Instagram user agreed, commenting: “Y’all can say what y’all want to Paige. She gonna fold and go back to Chris every time.”

Some viewers just thought the Married at First Sight expert’s warnings came far too late.

“Dr. Pepper is 4 weeks too late,” a fan argued. “Smh.”

Still other fans congratulated and applauded Dr. Pepper for telling it like it is about Chris.

“If Dr. Pepper called him a narcissist, you know it’s true!” a supporter wrote.

Married at First Sight airs on Lifetime on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST.
