Usually, being married means living together. But Noi from Married at First Sight Season 14 has a different idea. In the March 30 episode of the Lifetime reality series, she revealed to her husband Steven that she might not be interested in living with him after Decision Day, even if they decide to stay together.

Noi says she doesn’t want to live with Steve after Decision Day in March 30 episode of ‘Married at First Sight’ Season 14

In the latest episode of Married at First Sight, Steve and Noi talk about what they think their relationship might look like after Decision Day. Noi apparently has some reservations about moving in with Steve permanently, even though they are already living together while filming the show.

“I just don’t feel ready to move in together,” she says.

She went on to say that she didn’t feel comfortable completely combining their lives at this point. Many couples don’t share a living space 100% of the time, she argued.

Steve doesn’t understand Noi’s hesitation.

“You want to live together as a married couple for two months and then get to know each other?” he asks. “I don’t know about that … We got married. What did you think you were signing up for?”

Steve is baffled by Noi’s ‘surprising’ comments

For Steve, Noi’s unwillingness to cohabitate was a sign she wasn’t “ready to be committed to a marriage.”

“She told me she didn’t want to move in after Decision Day,” he said in a confessional. “For me, that’s a bit surprising. It’s not something I’d ever even considered. I thought moving in was just something that came with it.”

He went on to say that he took his marriage seriously and was ready to build a life with someone. “I hope my wife would be willing to do the same,” he said.

During her conversation with Steve, Noi wouldn’t give him a clear answer about why she was hesitant to move in with him. But she shed more light on the situation during an appearance on Married at First Sight: Afterparty

Noi explained that she’d been in a serious relationship with a previous boyfriend. The two were living together, and when they broke up she “basically had to start all over.”

After that experience, Noi vowed that she’d never live with someone again unless they were engaged or married. “I am married,” she said to Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam. “But still, at this point, we are still kind of dating.” However, she hadn’t shared that information with Steve when they had their conversation about post-Decision Day plans.

“That’s why there’s a conflict,” she said.

New episodes of Married at First Sight Season 14 air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
