‘Married at First Sight’: Woody Makes an Emotional Declaration of Love to Amani

Amani Aliyya and Woody Randall immediately became a fan-favorite couple on Lifetime’s Married at First Sight season 11 in New Orleans. They shared an instant spark that made fans fall in love with them over and over again.

On the October 21 episode of Married at First Sight, the couples prepared to make the biggest decision of their lives. With Decision Day around the corner, Amani and Woody discussed their potential future together. At their last romantic dinner date before the big day, Woody laid all his cards out on the table in a romantic profession of love for his wife.

Woody told Amani he ‘saw love differently now’

Over dinner shortly before Decision Day, Woody and Amani discussed the big choice they both had to make – and their eventful past four months together. Amani asked Woody if he had any “burning questions” remaining before they had to decide whether to stay together or get a divorce.

But Woody seemed utterly besotted with his wife, as well as completely confident about his decision.

“I loved you throughout this whole process, and I still love you right now,” the Married at First Sight star told his wife in no uncertain terms.

The 30-year-old education administrator and coach let Amani know that she’d changed him – not only as a husband, but as a person. “I’ve grown as a different person with your help,” he told his wife, adding that he fundamentally “saw love differently now” that he’d truly experienced it for himself.

Woody’s romantic declaration of love didn’t stop there. He got choked up as he told 29-year-old Amani, a nonprofit program coordinator, that he never knew what love really was until he met and married her. While Woody had always wanted to fall in love, get married, and raise a family, he’d never fully understood it before.

“I feel like I have my grandparents’ love,” he confessed with tears in his eyes, revealing that it was different from anything he’d ever felt before. What’s more, the Married at First Sight star added, the depth of his feelings for Amani caught him completely off guard.

“I didn’t see that s*it coming at all,” Woody confessed, calling Amani his “soulmate.”

Woody became more vulnerable with his wife’s help

Amani gushed over Woody’s vulnerability and thanked him for his sweet words. Still, the Married at First Sight star wondered why he felt ready to be married if he didn’t fully believe in love.

After thinking for a moment, Woody explained, “I knew what I wanted in life…but I didn’t know how to do it. I see how to do it now. It’s different.” Woody leaned in to kiss his wife as he let her know it couldn’t have happened without her, and only her.

This wasn’t the first time that Amani was able to bring out Woody’s sensitive, emotional side. While some Married at First Sight fans worried at first that Woody’s extroverted, playboy ways might give him a wandering eye, those suspicions couldn’t have been further from the truth.

Woody professed his love to Amani not long after they got married. While Amani wasn’t able to reciprocate at first – telling him instead that she was in “strong like” with him – the couple had many difficult conversations over the following weeks.

Woody opened up about the difficult of his father’s incarceration when he was just nine years old, as well as his longing for paternal love in his life. They also hashed out Woody’s fears about not being included in major decisions due to a past relationship in which a former girlfriend had an abortion without consulting him first.

Eventually, Amani told Woody she loved him, too, despite her fears of being left heartbroken. And as Decision Day approaches, fans are rooting for the couple to make it for the long haul.
