Avengers: Endgamecertainly lived up to its title. In fact, some fans are left wondering exactly how the Marvel Cinematic Universe will persist in the coming years. Thankfully, Thanos (Josh Brolin) is far from the only Big Bad the MCU can tap into going forward. But by the looks of things She-Hulk and the upcoming Disney+ slate will lead the way to a brand-new MCU team.

The MCU needs a new superhero team after ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are a mess by the end of Avengers: Endgame. The fight against Thanos certainly took its toll, with both Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) sacrificing their lives. And the surviving members of the original line-up aren’t exactly battle-ready either.

Sure, the MCU still has a lot of heroes waiting in the wings. Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) would all make fine leaders to the Avengers. But a new version of the team hasn’t really taken shape just yet. And it might not for a while.

Instead, the MCU could turn to a new superhero team. After all, nearly every original Avenger has some kind of successor on the way. And the call to leadership could actually fall to She-Hulk. The character is set to debut in her own Disney+ series, and a new report claims she’s the key to what comes next.

The upcoming Disney+ series could pave the way for A-Force

According to a potential scoop reported by YouTuber Pete’s Basement, Marvel Studios plans to use the upcoming She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel shows to build up to an A-Force movie. Avengers: Endgame already teased the all-female team, as the MCU ladies assisting Captain Marvel on the battlefield.

This approach fits, especially given the MCU’s push for more representation.
Moreover, using the Disney+ shows to feed directly into a big-screen adventure feels like a natural evolution of tactics the MCU has used in the past. But this time, Marvel will finally link its movie and TV projects.

Phase 1 featured a series of solo superhero movies, which culminated in The Avengers. And on the TV side, Netflix shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones ultimately built up to The Defenders miniseries. So taking the Disney+ shows directly into a movie feels like the best of both worlds.

But which powerful MCU ladies will fill out the rest of the roster?

The report — which should very much be considered a rumor for now — also claims She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel will form the A-Force with Monica Rambeau. That character first appeared as a young girl in Captain Marvel but will be played by Teyonah Parris in the Disney+ show WandaVision.

Leaked set photos indicate Rambeau could be a member of S.W.O.R.D. That organization is the cosmic version of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the comics. And if that’s the case, perhaps Rambeau will fulfill the Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) role of assembling the team.

A-Force might even introduce mutants into the MCU. Now that Marvel Studios has the rights to the X-Men, Dazzler — a superhero and pop music superstar — could be a key team member. The character nearly headlined her own Hulu show, which has since been canceled. Could then this rumor hold true? Let’s hope Marvel sheds some light on what’s coming next soon.
