Megan Fox’s relationship with Machine Gun Kelly has been making headlines for over a year now.

The two stars, who both already have several tattoos, recently got matching ink. And not only did they get the same tattoo, they actually tattooed each other.

Here’s what you need to know about the unconventional couple’s new ink.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have been dating for over a year

MGK and Fox first met in the spring of 2020 on the set of the film Midnight in the Switchgrass. At the time, Fox was married to actor Brian Austin Green, with whom she shares three children. Kelly was also seeing someone, and he has a daughter from a previous relationship.

After meeting, the two separated from their respective partners and quickly started dating each other. They have been practically inseparable since then, and they are constantly making headlines for their public appearances together and comments about one another on social media.

Fox has referred to Kelly as her “twin flame” and said that their relationship is “handled for us by our ancestors and the spirits and energies that are watching over us.”

They recently gave each other matching tattoos of a meaningful phrase

While many critics expected their relationship to fizzle out quickly, it seems that Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are only deepening their commitment to each other.

Their most recent display of eternal love was getting matching tattoos. But they didn’t just get the same design on their bodies. They took control of the tattoo gun and drew the ink on each other.

The words the couple scrawled on each other in permanent ink read, “The darkest fairytale.” According to Fox (per British GQ), the phrase “alludes back to one of the first text messages we ever sent each other.”

Fox, who has significantly less ink than Kelly, got her tattoo first. She used a CBD joint to relax before her lover used the tattoo gun on her. “God, that’s sick,” Kelly said after finishing Fox’s tattoo.

Although they wanted to put the tattoos on their inner-arm veins, Kelly is already so covered in ink that the words would get lost in the rest of his designs. MGK’s “The darkest fairytale” ended up on his pelvis.

“I’m just scared that I f—ed it up!” Fox said when she finished, thinking she didn’t press hard enough and made the tattoo too light.

“F—ing best tattoo I’ve ever seen in my life,” Kelly lovingly reassured her. “It looks like a fairy ghost did it, right? It’s all haunted.”

This isn’t the first time Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have gotten tattoos in each other’s honor

Although this is the first time the couple got matching tattoos and the first time they inked each other (that we know of), their fairytale tattoos aren’t the first ones that MGK and Fox have gotten to commemorate their love.

In Nov. 2020, Fox debuted a new tattoo at the American Music Awards. The ink on her collarbone above her heart reads, “el pistolero,” which is Spanish for “the gunman.”

On “banyan tree – interlude,” the penultimate track from Kelly’s 2020 album, Tickets To My Downfall, MGK shares an intimate conversation with Fox.

The Jennifer’s Body star can be heard saying, “You just got my initials tattooed on you. I just got your nickname tattooed on me.”
