Nov. 28 marked the second day of BTS‘ Permission to Dance On Stage – LA concert tour. During the stellar night, Megan Thee Stallion made a surprise appearance and performed “Butter” with Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

BTS and Megan Thee Stallion were supposed to perform ‘Butter’ at the 2021 American Music Awards

BTS originally released their hit single “Butter” on May 21. After dominating the Billboard Hot 100 with the single for weeks, the band dropped a remix of “Butter” featuring Megan Thee Stallion on Aug. 27.

The 2021 American Music Awards took place on Nov. 21. At the award show, BTS and Megan Thee Stallion were set to perform “Butter” together for the first time.

Ahead of the 2021 AMAs, Megan Thee Stallion let fans know that she would not be able to attend the award show. In her tweet, the Grammy Award-winning rapper promised fans she would perform “Butter” with BTS “soon.”

“Hotties I was so excited to go to the @AMAs and perform with @BTS_official, but due to an unexpected personal matter, I can no longer attend,” Megan Thee Stallion tweeted. “I’m so sad! I really can’t wait to hit the stage with my guys and perform #BTS_Butter real soon!”

At the 2021 AMAs, BTS performed “Butter” on their own to close the award show.

BTS’ Permission to Dance On Stage – LA concerts take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Nov. 27, Nov. 28, Dec. 1, and Dec. 2.

For the first night of Permission to Dance On Stage – LA, BTS performed “Butter” on their own. During the second show of the concert series, Megan Thee Stallion shocked fans by joining BTS on stage.

As BTS performed the song on the extended stage, Megan Thee Stallion rose up on a platform near the live band on stage. When she appeared, the crowd erupted in cheers so loud it was difficult to hear the rapper.

Megan Thee Stallion rapped her verse and then joined Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook on the extended stage.

The artists performed together until the end of “Butter.” When the song finished, BTS and Megan Thee Stallion walked back to the main stage and remarked how happy they were to finally perform together.

There will be a livestream of BTS’ last LA concert

After the show ended, Megan Thee Stallion shared her appreciation for BTS on social media. The rapper posted photos from the night and thanked the members of BTS.

“Last night was EVERYTHING Thank you to my friends @BTS_twt for having meee,” she tweeted.

BTS will continue performances of Permission to Dance On Stage – LA on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2. The Dec. 2 concert date will be livestreamed on VenewLive, and fans can purchase tickets for the livestream on Weverse Shop.
