Megan Thee Stallion to host pet series on Snapchat

In April, Megan Thee Stallion’s team took over her Instagram account to announce her break from social media. Rather than a simple note, the rapper delivered the news with a video. In it, she’s in a water-filled tank hooked up to a computer that typed out a message to fans. She’s stepping back to regenerate and her management team would take over her social accounts.

March turned out to be a stellar month for the Houston-bred artist as she celebrated three Grammy Award wins. Megan also informed fans that she has five festival appearances happening this summer here in the U.S. and abroad. But the TV series is the latest news.

Snapchat and Thee Stallion dropped word that a pet-centric show is coming to the app featuring Megan as the host. Branded as a Snap Original, Off the Leash with Megan Thee Stallion is slated to be released later in 2021.

According to the company’s press release, it’s an unscripted series where Megan Thee Stallion will be “joined by celebrity friends and their pets hosted in a way that only Megan can.” It’s being produced by Westbrook Media, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s company.

Megan has five dogs who are all equally as famous. Frenchie 4oe, Dos, 5ive, and Ten (X) are frequently stars of her Instagram posts and they each have their own distinct personalities. Fans are used to see her at home, on planes, and on vacation with her doggie brood.

Snapchat has other original series on the burner

Snapchat has been streaming original content on its app for years, and other celebrities with projects on the app include Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Kevin Hart, and Conor McGregor.

In addition to Megan Thee Stallion’s animal production, Snapchat will also roll out a reality competition show with Dixie and Charli D’Amelio as the main contenders.

It’s titled Charli VS. Dixie. Fans can also be on the lookout for several upcoming documentaries. One is about a set of high schoolers in Texas, while others feature internet sister stars Niki and Gabi DeMartino, and NicoleTV.

The latter will focus on meme queen Kayla Nicole, a popular YouTube influencer who just had her first baby. She’ll be giving fans a peek inside her life as a young new mom who’s juggling a fiancé, business, and her mother living under her roof.

Snapchat is also trying out its tech by making users the stars of their own streaming series. Per the media release, The Me and You Show is “A first-of-its-kind personalized sketch comedy show starring you and your best friend. Using Snapchat’s Cameo technology, you become the lead actor in funny scenes with one of your best friends on Snap.”

The company is aiming for its target audience age of 13-24 with its content, but any Snapchat user can watch its lineup of Snap Originals. Stay tuned for more updates on Megan Thee Stallion’s Off the Leash with Megan Thee Stallion release date.
