While Oprah did admit that she had connected with Meghan via text before the big interview to find out what her intention for the talk was, she ended up still being somewhat blindsided by the depth of the revelations.

“Yeah, I was surprised,” Winfrey told Nancy O’Dell. “I was surprised at the amount of, you know, literally with that thing that’s now become a meme, that’s like, ‘What?’ I’m like, ‘What? You’re going there? You’re going all the way there?'”
