Celebrity weddings are often exciting events. For pop-culture fans, they offer an irresistible combination of many of our favorite elements: the personal lives of our favorite stars, the fashion trends that delight and surprise, and the chance to vicariously lap up some of the lavish ways the rich and famous spend their fortunes.

Even when a celebrity wedding isn’t particularly over-the-top, it’s still a noteworthy event that provides a spark of joy for fans of the lovebirds. When Meryl Streep’s daughter Grace Gummer recently tied the knot with Mark Ronson, she stunned and delighted in her elegant wedding dress.

Meryl Streep has four children who all work in entertainment

Streep is an absolute powerhouse in Hollywood. As the actor continues to break her own record for Academy Award nominations, Streep has established herself as one of the most decorated and versatile actors in the field. From dramas to musicals, Streep has more than established her acting credentials, but she’s also brought four children into the world who have — in various ways — followed in her footsteps.

Streep, who has been married to Don Gummer for more than 40 years, welcomed her first child in 1979. Professionally, he goes by Henry Wolfe (his first and middle names) and works as a musician.

In 1983, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Mamie Gummer. She entered acting playing a younger version of her famous mother and has seen her career take off in its own right.

Their second daughter, Grace Gummer, was born in 1986 and has also seen success as an actor. Finally, third daughter Louisa Jacobson (who professionally goes by her first and middle names) was born in 1991 and followed her mom and older siblings into the acting spotlight.

Grace Gummer married Mark Ronson in a stunning wedding dress

There have been many elaborate celebrity weddings that became spectacles of publicity, but Grace Gummer’s was not one of them. She wed music producer Mark Ronson in a private ceremony, and the pair shocked fans when Ronson announced the wedding after the fact. According to Yahoo!, he shared a simple photograph of their wedding day on his 46th birthday as he praised his new bride for making his 45th year “the greatest year of my life.”

The wedding gown was simple and white with a deep v-neck. The look has gained attention for its understated elegance, and it helped to punctuate the outdoor ceremony held under a chuppah, a traditional Jewish symbol of the home the newlyweds will build together.

‘Dr. Death’: Will There Be a Season 2 of the Peacock Docudrama?

Both Grace Gummer and Ronson had been married before. Previously Grace Gummer was wed to actor Tay Strathairn, who gained fame for his role in Nomadland. The pair tied the knot in 2019 but filed for divorce less than a year later.

Ronson, meanwhile, was previously married to French actor Joséphine de La Baume. They wed in 2011 and parted ways in 2018.

Grace Gummer and Ronson both know what it’s like to be in the spotlight while maintaining high-profile relationships with others working in the entertainment business, and their simple, understated wedding perhaps belies an intention to keep their private life separate from their public one. As the pair start building their new life together, Grace Gummer is also looking at new projects.

Grace Gummer recently appeared on the podcast-inspired Peacock series Dr. Death, which many fans hope will be renewed. She’s also slated to be in a pilot for the upcoming Let the Right One In, a vampire drama that’s an adaptation of a film of the same name.
