Few people look forward to doing their taxes. And if you’ve spent time in prison due to tax fraud, you probably approach dealing with the IRS with even more anxiety than most. But Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino — who spent eight months in prison in 2019 for evading taxes — has a sense of humor about the situation.

Mike Sorrentino is ready for tax season

Last year, Sorrentino spent eight months behind bars at a federal prison in Otisville, New York, after pleading guilty to tax evasion and concealing income. Prosecutors said he failed to pay taxes on $8.9 million in income between 2010 and 2012.

But his days of shirking the taxman are behind him, Sorrentino assured fans in his latest Instagram post. The Jersey Shore Family Vacation star shared a video of himself inspired by a viral TikTok trend. The clip is set to the intro of Lady Gaga’s song “Monster” and features the lyrics “Don’t look at me like that” and “You amaze me.” Sorrentino added the text “Telling my accountant we are on track this year with our taxes” to go with the song’s first line, and “My accountant” to go with the second.

His ‘Jersey Shore’ co-star called him out for this mistake

Unfortunately, Sorrentino made a typo when making his video, misspelling the word “accountant.” His Jersey Shore co-star Vinny Guadagnino immediately called him out. “Wtf is an acconutant” he asked.

“Video is too good to redo  🤷🏻‍♂️” Sorrentino replied.

He defended himself in another comment, writing, “I’m not famous for my SPELLING 😩😂🤷🏻‍♂️”

For fans, the mistake just made the video funnier. One suggested an “acconutant” might be “a new space force position.”

“It’s the official accountant for NASA,” chimed in someone else.

“I can’t stop laughing,” replied another.

‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ returns in February

If your Thursdays have felt empty since the last episode of Jersey Shore aired in November 2019, we have good news. Jerzdays are back starting Feb. 27 at 8/7c, when new season 3 episodes begin airing on MTV.

Sorrentino and his wife Lauren will be getting a lot of screen time, as The Situation returns home from prison, much to the excitement of his friends. And while reality star has turned his life around, he and the gang still like to party. “My probation officer is not gonna like this,” he says in the show’s trailer.

However, the reunion may not last for long. While Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi appears in the teaser for the new episodes, it could be the last viewers see of her wild antics. The 32-year-old mom of three announced in December 2019 that she’d be stepping away from the show.

“I am retiring from Jersey Shore,” she said on the It’s Happening with Snooki & Joey podcast. “I am not coming back to Jersey Shore for season 4 if there is one. The main reason is really … I just can’t do it anymore. Literally, leaving my kids to film it is really, really hard on me.”

“I don’t like partying three days in a row,” she added. “It’s just not my life anymore. I want to be home with the kids.”
