Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have been happily married since 2015. They had a beautiful, private wedding ceremony that took place in a “secret garden.” Yet before the special day, Kutcher got on one knee to propose. And according to Kunis, his proposal was the “best day” of her life.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher reconnected romantically after ‘That ‘70s Show’

Kunis and Kutcher were good friends while starring on That ‘70s Show. Yet due to their age gap, they weren’t romantically involved until several years down the line. They kept in touch via AIM, yet they didn’t reconnect in person until Kunis was in her late 20s.

“I didn’t realize how good-looking he was until we reconnected when I was in my late 20s,” she said on Popcorn With Peter Travers. “That’s the God’s honest truth. We always, always kept in touch for years and years and years, both had completely separate lives, lived two separate lives, became two completely different people. It wasn’t until literally my late 20s that we reconnected. I was like, ‘Oh my God, you’re really good looking and incredibly smart.’”

Mila Kunis says Ashton’s proposal was the ‘best day’ of her life

Kunis and Kutcher had been platonic friends for years. But according to Kunis, one day it all just changed. Suddenly, out of nowhere, they developed romantic feelings for each other.

“One day, it just changed,” said Kunis of their relationship (via PopSugar.) “All of a sudden, it wasn’t the same and I was really proud of myself for acknowledging that. The best day of my life so far was the proposal,” she admits. “I cried. I was a mess. Not to discredit any relationships in my past, but this relationship is different.”

And not long after being engaged, the two shared a private wedding ceremony in Oak Glen, California. It took place in the “secret garden” according to People. The wedding venue included a beautiful apple orchard and glistening ponds.

But it was very important for the couple that they kept their wedding as private as possible. The last thing they wanted was press coming over to shoot pictures of their sacred event.

“It was a ninja effort,” Kutcher said during an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show. “We really didn’t want helicopters at our wedding and it’s a legitimate concern.”

Despite Kutcher’s proposal being the best day of her life, Kunis doesn’t like to wear her engagement ring out in public for a simple reason.

“My engagement ring is in a safety deposit box,” she revealed, according to Elle Australia. “I’m like, ‘I can’t wear this because someone’s going to chop my hand off for it.’”

So instead of wearing Kutcher’s sentimental ring, the Black Swan star wears a $90 ring from Etsy.

“So I went on Etsy and I was like, ‘$90?’ I was like, ‘Buy now!’ $90, everybody!” she said while appearing on Conan. “Ashton’s was $100, so technically his wedding band was a little bit more expensive than mine.”

“My engagement ring is beautiful, but I don’t ever wear it,” she continued. “This ring, I’m like, $90. It’s great.”
