Miley Cyrus is in full rock star mode. The 27-year-old singer dropped a remix of “Midnight Sky” at midnight on Nov. 6 titled “Edge of Midnight.” And just as the title suggests, it’s a mashup of “Midnight Sky” and Stevie Nicks’ iconic “Edge of Seventeen.” And the Fleetwood Mac alum is featured on the track, marking Cyrus’ first collaboration with the rock icon.

Miley Cyrus and Stevie Nicks’ ‘Edge of Midnight’ lyrics are an epic mashup of rock songs

Given that “Midnight Sky” samples the iconic Nicks song, there were plenty fan-made remixes mashing the two singles together. The key difference in Cyrus’ rendition is the presence the “Dreams” singer, who sings a verse of “Midnight Sky” in the remix. Cyrus also sings parts of “Edge of Seventeen” on the new track.

The song opens up with the familiar “Edge of Seventeen” riff, also sampled in Destiny’s Child’s “Bootylicious.”

Then Cyrus sings the first verse and pre-chorus:

Yeah, it’s been a long night and the mirror’s telling me to go home
But it’s been a long time since I felt this good on my own (Uh)
Lotta years went by with my hands tied up in your ropes
Forever and ever, no more (No more)

The midnight sky is the road I’m takin’
Head high up in the clouds (Oh, oh)

Nicks and “Edge of Seventeen” come in for the chorus:

I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you (By you)
Fire in my lungs, can’t bite the devil on my tongue, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you
Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song, sounds like she’s singing
Ooh, baby, ooh, said, ooh
Just like the whitе winged dove
Sings a song, sounds like shе’s singing
Ooh, baby, ooh, said, ooh
Loved by you

Nicks comes in for the second verse:

And the days go by like a strand in the wind
In the web that is my own, I begin again
I sing to my friend, eh (Everything stopped)
Nothing else mattered (Nothing else mattered)
(No more)

The Hannah Montana alum then sings the pre-chorus again before the duo joins forces in the next chorus:

The midnight sky is the road I’m takin’
Head high up in the clouds (Oh, oh)

I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone,oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you (By you)
Fire in my lungs, can’t bite the devil on my tongue, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you
See my lips on her mouth, everybody’s talkin’ now, baby
Ooh, baby, ooh, said, ooh
Just like the white winged dove (Just like the white winged dove)
Sings a song, sounds like she’s singing
Ooh, baby, ooh, said, ooh

Falling on, on the edge of
Seventeen
I don’t hide blurry eyes like you
Like you

I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no
I don’t need to be loved by you (By you)
Fire in my lungs, can’t bite the devil on my tongue, you know
I don’t need to be loved by you
Just like the white winged dove (Just like the white winged dove)
Sings a song, sounds like she’s singing
Ooh, baby, ooh, said, ooh
Just like the white winged dove (Just like the white winged dove)
Sings a song, sounds like she’s singing (Made a few mistakes)
Ooh, baby, ooh, said, ooh
Loved by you, yeah

La, la, la-la, la
In the midnight
You know it’s true
In the midnight
Sky (Loved by you)

This remix joins the ranks of Cyrus’ epic rock covers as of late. No doubt, it will make an indelible addition to Plastic Hearts, out Nov. 27.
