Miley Cyrus is one of the world’s most enduring pop stars. She rose to fame as the titular teen icon in Hannah Montana. But unlike many other child stars, Cyrus was expertly able to transition into a new phase of her career, evolving from an innocent pop princess to a provocative performer who loves pushing the boundaries.

Cyrus is known for her sense of fun and outgoing personality. And over the years, she has been involved in a few high-profile pranks, some including her celeb friends. As Cyrus clearly isn’t above an April Fools’ Day prank, her 2022 live album drop date raised some eyebrows.

In 2014, Miley Cyrus was at the peak of her fame when she enlisted fellow music superstar Avril Lavigne for an April Fools’ Day gag. The prank, which Clevver News highlights, included Cyrus and Lavigne posting an Instagram video skit on April 1.

In the video, Lavigne approaches Cyrus, telling her that she’s the “most famous Canadian.” Cyrus, holding a doctored magazine cover, acts annoyed with Lavigne. She pushes back, telling Lavigne she’s the most famous “person in Canada,” even if Cyrus isn’t Canadian.

The two pop stars then launched into a mock fight, throwing punches and rolling around on the floor. Cyrus and Lavigne made it clear to their fans that the whole thing was an elaborate ruse. Lavingne posted pictures of the performance with the caption “April Fools.”

Miley Cyrus is known for her love of practical jokes and pranks

A few years after the stunt with Lavigne, Cyrus pulled another prank, this time on Jimmy Kimmel. In a 2018 video introduced by the host on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Cyrus can be seen with a camera crew, all dressed as construction workers. She greets Kimmel’s wife at the entrance to his California home before sneaking upstairs to Kimmel’s room. There, she wakes him up by blasting her song “Wrecking Ball.” As the music played, tools festooned with blinking lights made the room flash with a strobe-like effect, waking up the dazed Kimmel.

In 2020, Cyrus decided to pull a prank on her friend, Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. Reportedly, Cyrus and Azalea went live on TikTok to promote the former’s album, Plastic Hearts. While the two artists were live chatting with fans, their room started filling with smoke. Azalea panicked until she realized that the whole thing was an elaborate prank courtesy of Cyrus.
