How many Emmy Awards does ‘Modern Family’ have?

There’s no show quite like Modern Family. With over a hundred episodes released, fans saw iconic moments like Mitch and Cam’s wedding, Alex’s acceptance to college, and many of Phil’s shenanigans. 

Some considered it one of ABC’s most successful shows, and the list of Emmy Awards and nominations confirms that. Over the last 11 seasons, Modern Family won 22 Emmy Awards, and was nominated for 82. Modern Family as a series won five Outstanding Comedy Series Awards in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. 

Who is the ‘Modern Family’ cast member with the most Emmy Awards?

Aside from the series picking up awards for its script, the cast members picked up a number of nominations. That includes the actor behind the football playing, musical loving father of two, Cameron Tucker. Eric Stonestreet (who played Cameron) won two Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. 

The actors behind the couple, Phil and Claire Dunphy, earned recognition as well. Julia Bowen (who played Claire Dunphy) won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series won one Emmy, while Ty Burrell (Phil Dunphy) won two Emmy Awards for his work on the show.

‘Modern Family’ premiered its final episode during 2020

With Mitch, Cam, and Lily moving away, Haley and Dylan getting married, and Alex conducting more research away from home, it was time for the characters of Modern Family to finally say goodbye to each other.

The Dunphys will always leave their porch light on, though! Additionally, a few people who worked on Modern Family for its final season earned Emmy nominations.

That includes Fred Willard, the actor behind Phil Dunphy’s dad, Frank, who picked up a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. Gail Mancuso earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.

“I said, ‘No tears?'” Jesse Tyler Ferguson said according to AP, when asked about his co-star Ed O’Neill. “He said, you know what? Things hit me in a really weird way. I’ll be getting a facial in two weeks and, all of a sudden, I’ll burst into tears.’ And the only thing I took from that is, Ed gets facials?”
