Ariel Winter portrayed Alex Dunphy in ABC’s original comedy series, ‘Modern Family’

As one of ABC’s most popular shows, this television network released episodes of Modern Family featuring Winter as the middle Dunphy child, Alex. This character was an overachiever, appearing in most episodes of the original series.

With a passion for science and the debate team, Alex Dunphy always felt like an outsider in her family. This character shared a glimpse into her social life during one episode of ABC’s comedy series. That included Winter singing as Alex Dunphy.

Ariel Winter sang as her character during the ‘Best Men’ ‘Modern Family’ episode

During the season 4 episode titled “Best Men,” fans heard Winter sing as Alex Dunphy for one of the first times. During one episode, Haley and Claire Dunphy discovered that Alex Dunphy wasn’t in “band” — she was in a band. That was the Electric Light Dorkestra where this character played the cello and sang.

Claire and Haley didn’t even know that she was a singer. Alex Dunphy surprised the family again when they traveled to a cabin for the holidays during the “White Christmas” episode. She performed a duet of “Silent Night,” and, not-so-surprisingly, it was amazing.

Alex Dunphy always played the cello, revealing that the violin was “too happy” for her. In “Someone to Watch Over Lily,” Alex Dunphy shared that she actually wanted to quit the instrument but wasn’t used to quitting.

Haley Dunphy sometimes showcased her singing skills, like when she auditioned to be a cruise ship performer during “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Phil Dunphy.” While babysitting the boys during “The Late Show,” Haley Dunphy performed “Midnight Train to Georgia” by Gladys Knight & the Pips.

Cameron Tucker, portrayed by Eric Stonestreet, also showcased his singing skills as the local music teacher. Unfortunately, during the “If You Leave Me Now” episode, one woman thought Mitch had the better singing voice.

As the voice of the title character from Sofia the First, Winter is the artist behind the “Sofia the First” theme song. This Disney Junior original series broadcasted four seasons, featuring this princess on several adventures.

Outside of her television stardom, this actor sometimes showcased her singing voice on social media and with YouTube covers. Her version of “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift, posted in 2013, has almost a million views.
