Disney+ announced the official premiere date for ‘Monsters At Work’

What happened to Mike and Sully after they sent Boo home? Fans will finally have the answer with the Disney+ original, Monsters at Work. Some fans expected this series to premiere during 2020, along with originals like Lamp Life, Star Wars’ season 2 of The Mandalorian, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

However, the Walt Disney Company announced that production had been paused during 2020. Now, over a year later, fans are ready to return to the halls of Monsters, Incorporated for this animated series.

Monsters At Work will premiere its first episode on Disney’s streaming platform during July 2021. Presumably, after its debut, new episodes will premiere on a weekly basis. (This would be a similar format to shows like The Mandalorian and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.)

Mike and Sully return for ‘Monsters At Work’

Of course, Mike and Sully will be the stars of this animated original. However, thanks to a post of the Disney+ Instagram page, fans learned of a few new monsters making their debut with Monsters at Work.

Mindy Kaling joined the cast as the monster Val Little, while Bonnie Hunt will be reprising her role as Ms. Flint.

The official synopsis states, “Monsters At Work takes place the day after the Monsters, Incorporated power plant started harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis, thanks to Mike and Sulley’s discovery that laughter generates ten times more energy than screams.”

According to What’s on Disney+, this original series will focus on Tylor Tuskmon, played by Ben Feldman, who dreamed of becoming a top scarer. Those dreams are quickly crushed when scaring is out and comedy is in. This character stars his career alongside Mike and Sulley, who will be played by John Goodman and Billy Crystal.”

Both Monsters Inc. and Monsters University are available on this streaming service. Since Disney+’s release date, several Pixar projects have made their debut on this streaming platform.

That includes the shorts featuring Toy Story 4 characters, titled Forky Asks a Question, and the original full-length animated movie, Soul.

The Disney+ original series, Monsters At Work, premieres on July 2, 2021. Until then, the original Disney and Pixar movie, Monsters Inc., and its sequel, Monsters University, is available on the streaming platform.
