If you’ve been keeping an eye on the relationship between NCIS agents Ellie Bishop and Nick Torres, you’re not alone. They’ve been doing the will-they-or-won’t-they dance for a couple of seasons. Fortunately, Wilmer Valderrama says fans will finally get answers to some of the questions they have about the duo.

What can you expect for Bishop and Torres? Valderrama says there will be plenty of developments during the next couple of season 18 episodes. He tells TV Line their story will finally begin to move forward.

“We’re coming to a crossroads for these two characters where they have to really be honest about who they are to each other and who they are to themselves,” Valderrama tells TV Line. “That’s something that I think the writers have done very well, in a breadcrumb type of way.”

Will a romance heat up during NCIS season 18? Valderrama says there will be a resolution to the back and forth between the characters. We’ll finally see how they decide to define their relationship. According to the NCIS actor, there will be a “big” moment between Bishop and Torres.

“The question of what they are outside of the badge is something that will be addressed this season,” says Valderrama. “There is a big moment they are going to experience.”

The question is whether that “big” moment will lead to Bishop and Torres finally starting a relationship. Valderrama says questions about the agents will be answered “soon.”

What does Gibbs think about dating on the job? There is a list of do’s and don’ts called Gibbs’ Rules. It’s his way of making sure there’s order. Gibbs’ Rule No. 12 (“Never date a co-worker”) is clear about his feelings when it comes to office romance. He thinks it should never be done.

However, we wonder if he had a little something going on with Jack Sloane (Maria Bello) while she was working at NCIS. They had a few moments where it seemed like there might have been something romantic going on between them.

And don’t forget that unforgettable goodbye. During NCIS Season 18, Episode 8 (titled “True Believer”), when Sloane is about to say farewell and leave the agency for good, Gibbs leans in and kisses her. That kiss didn’t seem like a surprise to Jack. It looked like they had kissed (and maybe more) before.

Some fans don’t like the idea of Bishop and Torres as a couple

Although some fans are rooting for Bishop and Torres, others would rather not see them together. There have been debates on fan sites and social media about their future.

Fans of the show are divided about which way the agents should go. Some argue they’re too different, and their relationship would crash and burn. Others think it would be nice to have a couple replace Tony and Ziva. Either way, we can’t wait to see what happens between these two.

NCIS airs Tuesdays on CBS at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
