Marty Deeks will no longer be an LAPD liaison with the NCIS Los Angeles office. During season 12, episode 3 (titled “Angry Karen”), he received a letter saying he was being temporarily removed from his position. Deeks was understandably nervous, but Kensi reassured him he had nothing to worry about and everything would be fine. Unfortunately, the plans changed, and his removal was made permanent.

Nell reluctantly gave the news to Deeks toward the end of season 12, episode 5 (titled “Raising the Dead”). He said he would just apply to become an NCIS officer, but Nell says it’s unlikely that would work out because they don’t usually take older applicants. Does this mean Deeks is gone for good?

What Daniela Ruah says about Eric Christian Olsen leaving ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’

What does Deeks’ termination mean for Eric Christian Olsen? Is he leaving the show? His co-star and sister-in-law, Daniela Ruah, spoke to TV Line about the rumors. Ruah says if Olsen was leaving the show, she would know about it. According to her, he’s staying put.

“Listen, if Eric were leaving the show permanently, we would know about that by now, and that’s obviously not the case,” she told the publication. “So, somewhere and somehow, things happen that change the course of where the story is going.”

From what Ruah is saying, it seems like the producers will find a way to keep Deeks with the NCIS gang. How that’s going to happen, we have no idea, but we’re sure it will be interesting.

Eric Christian Olsen had a big development in his personal life

One reason fans might be afraid Olsen is leaving the show is because of the latest development in his personal life. Olsen and his wife, Sarah Wright, recently welcomed their third child. Wright gave birth to a girl named Winter Story back in September. Olsen posted this heartfelt message on social media:

She’s here!!! As we collectively navigate the chaos and existential crisis that is 2020, we anchor ourselves with the things that matter most. Family, friends and human connection. Winter Story Olsen came to us sept 15th. She’s 10lbs 4 ounces of newborn bliss. Mama and baby are doing great, home safe surrounded by a cuddle puddle of kids and giant dogs. Life is equal parts spectacular and fleeting; Love fearlessly.

Olsen tells Entertainment Tonight Canada he’s grateful to still be working on the show. He can’t believe the show is still airing after all these years.

“One of the big things about this cast and this crew is that we really do know how lucky we are,” says Olsen. “We’ve all had highs and lows in our careers, and we know that this is lighting in a bottle.”

Olsen also mentions his co-star LL Cool J, who says the cast has a chemistry that can’t be manufactured. “LL always says it, there’s chemistry, and there’s no science behind it, you just once in a while get really lucky, and you have something like this happen, and all you can do is embrace it and be thankful for it.”
