When Pauley Perrette left NCIS, her departure was shrouded in controversy and secrecy. In a series of vague Tweets, she had discussed a “machine” keeping her silent – “a very rich, power publicity machine,” according to Vanity Fair. However, though stories initially seemed to focus on physical assaults, attention shifted to Mark Harmon’s dog and the disagreement between Perrette and Harmon concerning the pet on set.

Reports indicate that after the dog injured a crew member, Pauley Perrette felt that the dog should no longer be allowed on-set; however, the dog remained. While this seemed to be at the heart of their contentious relationship – and the reason Perrette refused to shoot scenes with Harmon in the end – Perrette took to Twitter today to open up about her past. It appears that Perrette is “terrified of Harmon,” as a result of physical assault.

Pauley Perrette will not return to ‘NCIS’ because she is afraid to after facing physical assault (and she hopes fans will stop asking)

Pauley Perrette took to Twitter, likely to respond to fans’ persistence concerning whether she, like her fellow former co-star Cote de Pablo, will return to ‘NCIS.’ Pauley Perrette tweeted:

“NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?). I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it. I have a new show that is SAFE AND HAPPY! You’ll love it! #HappyPlace Love y’all!

According to Pauley Perrette’s latest Tweet, in which she posted a picture of her crewmember with stitches – presumably from Harmon’s dog attack, she was physically assaulted when she fought to keep such an event from happening again. Claiming “and I lost my job,” after being “physically assaulted for saying no,” it appears that the actress was forced into silence.

What did Mark Harmon do to Pauley Perrette?

As this time, Perrette’s statements are allegations, and it is unknown what Mark Harmon may have done. However, based on Pauley Perrette’s tweets, and a former article by Vanity Fair, it seems that now is the time to direct attention towards Mark Harmon. This is not the first time Perrette chose to speak up; this time, she just chose to be much more upfront.

It’s likely that the former star of NCIS has been pushed too far, and has decided to explain her decision to exit with clarity, no matter the backlash that may ensue. She has chosen to be brave. These posts are an act of strength, for such choices are often terrifying to make. She should be praised for speaking out.

She once posted on Twitter, according to Vanity Fair, that her decision – “not spilling the beans” – may not have been the correct move. She went on to state that she felt she had to protect her “crew, jobs, and so many people.” Asking her twitter followers, “at what cost?” the post raised a lot of eyebrows, but eventually, the dust, once again settled. With the recent posts on Twitter, dust will not settle anytime soon, as it shouldn’t. Mark Harmon may be coming under fire, and if he is guilty, he deserves all the negative media attention he will receive.

While Pauley Perrette initially skated around the topic, it seems she chose to dive headfirst this time. Being “terrified” is a strong choice of words, and Harmon will likely will be asked to make a statement (either to clear his name or admit to his actions and apologize).

As history has proven, when a victim comes forward, we should believe them. Pauley Perrette has come forward, and it’s time Mark Harmon be asked to answer for his actions.
