Netflix’s Halloween Lineup Will Leave You Petrified in Quarantine

If we’re being honest, time doesn’t really mean much this year. However, that doesn’t negate the fact that spooky season is definitely upon us. It’s time to officially switch out your all-day summer loungewear for cozy fall selections. As we prepare to warm up apple cider and buy Halloween candy just for ourselves, Netflix is reminding us that all is not lost.

Though Halloween might not happen in the way that we envisioned, Netflix’s Halloween lineup might be the thing that keeps us going. In addition to Season 4 of The Worst Witch and House of 1,000 Corpses, here are some of the selections the streaming platform has cooked up for October.

‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’

The next chapter of The Haunting anthology series will arrive on Netflix on Oct. 9. Set in the 1980s in England, The Haunting of Bly Manor follows Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas), a man who hires a young American nanny (Victoria Pedretti) to care for niece and nephew following their au pair’s tragic death.

The orphaned children live at the Bly Manor with their housekeeper, groundskeeper, and chef, but all is not what it seems.

‘A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting’

Based on Joe Ballarini’s book trilogy, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting follows Kelly Ferguson (Tamara Smart), a high school freshman who reluctantly agrees to babysit Jacob Zellman (Ian Ho) on Halloween.

Unbeknownst to Kelly, Jacob has secret powers and she’s soon recruited into a society of babysitters who protect kids with special powers from monsters. Kelly finds herself in the fight to keep Jacob safe while trying to defeat the Boogeyman known as The Grand Guignol (Tom Felton), and a glamorous witch named Peggy Drood (Indya Moore). The film will debut on Oct. 15.

‘Rebecca’

We all live for Armie Hammer in a period piece, but Rebecca has some sinister undertones. Lily James stars a young woman who finds herself in a whirlwind romance with a handsome widower Maxim de Winter (Hammer), Swept away to the millionaire’s estate, the newlywed begins to feel like she’s being haunted by Maxim’s late wife Rebecca. The film will premiere on Netflix Oct. 21.
