On Feb. 28, Pledis Entertainment announced that NU’EST will disband in March. Baekho and Minhyun renewed their contracts with Pledis Entertainment while JR, Aron, and Ren decided to leave the label. On March 15, the K-pop group‘s compilation album Needle & Bubble will drop. The album will honor the band’s 10-year anniversary.

NU’EST will release an album called ‘Needle & Bubble’

Following the news of NU’EST’s upcoming disbandment, the band announced that a final album will be released in mid-March.

Needle & Bubble will be a compilation album of NU’EST’s most popular and beloved songs. The tracklist has not been released yet, so it is a mystery what songs will be chosen to be released on the album.

According to a press release, “This marks a special return for the band as the album drops on March 15, NU’EST’s 10 year anniversary since debut. In The Best Album, NU’EST reflects on the band’s 10 year-long journey and the evolution of their music. In particular, the album will feature the band’s message dedicated to their official fan club ‘L.O.Λ.E’, sparking much curiosity around the title of the album, Needle & Bubble, along with the hidden story behind it.”

NU’EST will disband in March

NU’EST originally debuted with Pledis Entertainment on March 15, 2012. Their final album Needle & Bubble will be released on what would have been the 10-year anniversary of the K-pop group’s debut.

On Feb. 28, Pledis Entertainment published a Weverse announcement detailing NU’EST’s disbandment. According to the announcement, the quintet’s contracts officially end the day before Needle & Bubble drops.

In the Weverse post, Pledis Entertainment wrote:

“The exclusive artist contract with NU’EST will be concluded as of March 14. Our company and the members of NU’EST went through careful consideration and discussions on the future of the individual members and on what would be the best path for everyone and how they can present their best selves.

JR, ARON and REN have decided to start afresh after leaving our company. BAEKHO and MINHYUN will renew their contracts. We respect and support the decisions of every member, as they are the result of careful and extensive consideration and discussions.”

When will the tracklist for ‘Needle & Bubble’ be available?

On March 3, NU’EST shared a promotion schedule for Needle & Bubble on social media. From March 5 until March 10, teaser photos of the individual members and the band will be released on social media.

The tracklist for Needle & Bubble will be shared on March 11, and different music video teasers will be released on March 13 and March 14. Needle & Bubble and a music video will drop on March 15.

In the Weverse announcement, Pledis Entertainment shared that “NU’EST will cap off their official activities as NU’EST of PLEDIS Entertainment with their album…”
