Fans learned that BTS singer, visual, and dancer, Jin, loves to eat, thanks to his popular live stream series. Can the oldest member of this K-pop group cook as well as he can sing? This is what BTS fans learned about Kim Seokjin and his skills in the kitchen.

Jin has the web series titled ‘Eat Jin’

V loves posting pictures and videos of his dog, Yeontan. RM loves writing letters to BTS fans and posting those to Twitter. Each of the boys in this award-winning K-pop group has its own social media connections to the ARMYs. For Jin, one way he connects with fans is through his love for food.

Each BTS member jumps on their respective live stream to chat with fans. For Jin, he started one live stream featuring a few of his favorite foods. (For fans of YouTube, this is sometimes referred to as a mukbang.) It was quickly nicknamed “Eat Jin,” and a favorite moment of BTS fans.

Jin shared that sometimes he has time to cook

As the oldest member of the group, it makes sense that he would’ve made some food for the younger members. That’s especially true within the first few months following BTS’ debut. According to one translation of an interview with Ize Magazine from 2014, Jin shared that he often cooked for the younger BTS members.

“…I don’t like chocolate, but I do like chocolate flavored things,” Jin said. “That’s why I make food and give it to the members, but Suga’s reviews are the most detailed. He says my food tastes like food from low restaurants, but I don’t feel hurt. I’m satisfied that I can’t make the food that I want to eat.”

Due to time and age, those answers could’ve potentially changed. The success of BTS might’ve also impacted how much time Jin realistically has to cook. He did, however, have a chance to cook and bake on the web series alongside his fellow K-pop idols, titled Run BTS

The BTS members showed off their cooking skills for ‘Run BTS’

Much to the surprise of fans, the topic of one Run BTS episode was cooking, where two members prepared a dish to the directions of the other members, including Jin. To be fair, some pairs worked better than others.

Taehyung and Jungkook were creative with their plating and super precise (and careful) with their cutting. Jimin made a few jokes while pouring into his concoction with RM. Fans can see Jin, as well as the other BTS members during their now-postponed Map of the Soul world tour.

Music by BTS, including the recently released album, Map of the Soul: 7, is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major streaming platforms.
