They may be relatively new to the reality TV scene, but the Busbys are a lovable family attaining quite the fan base thanks to their TLC show, OutDaughtered. The show follows Adam and Danielle Busby as they parent six daughters, five of whom make up the only set of all-female quintuplets in the United States. And with so many little kids running around, it’s no wonder they have enough fascinating content for an entire reality TV show.

Recently, the Busbys were dealing with an emergency situation in their house that forced them to leave — and after that, even more chaos ensued. Here’s the moment that Danielle said induced “the worst feeling in the world.”

The Busbys had to leave their home after discovering a mold infestation

No one wants their child to fall ill. And Adam and Danielle Busby were incredibly concerned when they discovered one of the quints, Ava, had a severe cough with wheezing that wasn’t going away. After Danielle took her daughter to the doctor, they discovered that Ava had a virus that was closing up her upper airway. And the family eventually discovered that the initial cause of this was a mold infestation in their home.

“The whole upstairs seems to be covered with mold and it’s really bad in Ava and Olivia’s room, so my stomach is turning over because the numbers are like, astronomical,” People reports Danielle said after meeting with a mold inspector. The scared mom later added, “Basically, everybody needs to get tested. All of them need to get tested. It’s really starting to worry me that all these girls are getting sick. It’s really scary.” Eventually, Adam and Danielle decided the best course of action was to get everyone out of the home as fast as possible, even if it was just a temporary solution.

Danielle lost one of the quintuplets in the new house they were staying in

Fans who follow the Busbys on social media knew something was up with their home long before the episodes of OutDaughtered aired. In Touch Weekly notes Adam and Danielle explained they had to make a sudden and unexpected move — and we’re finally getting clips of the show that are giving us an inside look into their moving ordeal. Unfortunately, suddenly moving as just a couple would be stressful as it is, and adding six children into the mix certainly didn’t help matters.

In this clip, we see Danielle getting ready to put the quints down for a nap — but amongst the many unpacked boxes, she realized she was missing Ava. “There’s so much going on and then if I stop focusing on the kids for like, 10 minutes, you lose one,” Danielle stated in this clip. She then proceeded to search the house in an attempt to find Ava, but to no avail. “It’s one of the worst feelings in the world,” Danielle added. “I mean 10, 15 minutes seem like days have gone by if you can’t find your kid.”

Adam has also talked about the difficulties of taking care of so many kids

We don’t see Danielle find Ava in the TLC clip, but we know her daughter is safe and sound, as the Busbys have posted plenty of photos of Ava on their socials since the episode aired. Even so, we can’t imagine what it’s like raising so many little kids — and even Adam shared his difficulties while attempting to watch them as he’s working from home.

In this clip from People, we see Adam attempting to work and handle the quints when Danielle rushes Ava to the hospital. “One of the reasons I decided to work from home is so I could spend more time with my kids. But now that they’re 3½, these girls are way, way, way worse than I could even have imagined,” he said. “They’re terrible at sharing and they’re really super dramatic about it — like little birds chirping all day long, wanting attention.”

No matter what difficulties they face, there’s no doubt Adam and Danielle know are truly superheroes of parenthood. We can’t wait to see what else the quintuplets will get up to as OutDaughtered continues to air as well.
