‘Outer Banks’ Star Chase Stokes Wins People’s Choice Award and Reacts in the Most Pogue Way

Outer Banks star Chase Stokes had an epic Dec. 7, 2021. The actor took home a big win at the 2021 People’s Choice Awards after announcing another season of Outer Banks on Netflix. Naturally, Stokes reacted to his People’s Choice Awards victory in the most Pogue manner possible. “P4L, baby.”

Chase Stokes wins People’s Choice Award for Drama TV Star of 2021

Stokes was nominated for two categories at the 2021 People’s Choice Awards: Male TV Star of 2021 and Drama TV Star of 2021. Loki star Tom Hiddleston took home the win for Male TV Star, but Stokes won the People’s Choice Award for Drama TV Star category for his role in Outer Banks. He beat Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Angela Bassett (9-1-1), Ellen Pompeo (Grey’s Anatomy), Mandy Moore (This Is Us), Mariska Hargitay (Law & Order: SVU), Queen Latifah (The Equalizer), and Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us).

While some Outer Banks fans focused on Stokes and Madelyn Cline‘s “reunion” at the People’s Choice Awards, others enjoyed Stokes’ tweets about the win. “I won something, Bails is going to tweet about it now,” Stokes tweeted casually. His Outer Banks co-star Madison Bailey simultaneously tweeted: “Chase won something.”

Another Outer Banks co-star Carlacia Grant celebrated Stokes’ big win on Twitter. “Congrats @hichasestokes! My guy!!!!” Once again, in the most John B. fashion possible, Stokes replied jokingly: “What are you talking about.”

Despite Stokes’ extremely Pogue-like response to his win, Outer Banks fans were “stoked” for the actor (see what we did there). “Congrats Chase, you deserve it!!” a fan replied. “So proud of you. Can’t wait for season 3 obx!! P4L babyyyyy.”

‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 is confirmed with a reportedly mid-2022 release

As we said, Dec. 7, 2021 was a big day for Stokes and his entire Outer Banks cast. “I got an announcement all the way from Poguelandia,” Stokes said in a “Breaking News” post from the official Outer Banks Netflix account. “We’ve got incoming news. Drum roll please. It’s season 3 baby! We’re coming back, season 3.”

Outer Banks actors joined Stokes in the video post, including Grant, Cline, Austin North, Drew Starkey, Madison Bailey, Rudy Pankow, and Jonathan Daviss. “Back like we never left,” Bailey said. “Can’t kill a Pogue,” Pankow reminded fans. “See you in Poguelandia, baby!” Grant teased.

At this time, Netflix hasn’t confirmed an official release date for the new season of Outer Banks. However, a source close to the show said scripts for seasons 3 and 4 are in the process of being finalized. “Season 3 should start filming this year,” the source told Small Screen. They also said fans can expect Outer Banks Season 3 in the middle of 2022.

While a script for season 4 is in the works, Outer Banks Season 3 needs to perform as well as the first two seasons, if not better, to ensure the streaming giant renews the show for another season. Stay tuned to Showbiz Cheat Sheet for updates on Outer Banks Season 3. The first two seasons are available on Netflix now.
