Shaikh is an American actor who started his career with a small role in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War. He’s appeared in several popular projects over the years, including NCIS: New Orleans, MacGyver, and The Resident.

In 2021, Shaikh appeared in Season 3 of Cobra Kai as Dr. Vizernu, the physician caring for Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) after his accident. The actor tells Showbiz Cheat Sheet that being a fan of the Karate Kid films, he feels honored to be part of the legacy and had a great time working with the Cobra Kai cast, particularly William Zabka.

Shaikh’s recent projects include Creepshow and India’s Sweets and Spices. He joined the Outer Banks cast in Season 2 as Ebrahimi. And he is slated to appear in Samuel L. Jackson’s upcoming Apple TV+ series, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey.

In the final episodes of Outer Banks Season 2, Ward kidnaps his daughter Sarah (Madelyn Cline), steals Pope’s (Jonathan Daviss) gold cross, and gets on a cargo ship with his family. When the rest of the Pogues, including John B. (Chase Stokes), Kiara (Madison Bailey), and Pope, get on the ship and try to steal back the cross and save Sarah, Ebrahimi instructs his crewmen to fight back and keep the cross on board.

The Pogues versus Ward battle leads to altercations in and around the boat, including a few with Ebrahimi. Shaikh says it was genuinely thrilling to film those fight scenes, mainly because the ship was out at sea. He recalls that choppy waters caused the boat to shake. And that movement led to quite a few retakes.

“It was actually very cool to experience the fight sequences,” the Outer Banks star says. “We were trying to stay balanced, but we kept rocking back and forth.”

While the show is set in the Carolinas, Shaikh reveals most of the shipboard scenes were shot on a Russian boat off the coast of Barbados. “It was about five or six miles out into the sea,” he says, noting much of the final episode, including the Pogues’ new island discovery, was filmed in and around Barbados.

The cast is getting ready to work on ‘Outer Banks’ Season 3

In December 2021, Netflix confirmed Outer Banks Season 3 is happening. Shaikh isn’t sure where Ebrahimi’s story will go. But because of his friendship with co-star Charles Esten, he hopes the captain’s criminal partnership with Ward continues to grow.

Outer Banks Season 3 filming is scheduled to begin in February 2022. A release date hasn’t been announced, but it will likely hit Netflix toward the end of 2022 or early 2023. In the meantime, fans can check out all the behind-the-scenes photos Shaikh shares on his Instagram page.
