Outlander is currently finishing up season 6 on Starz. The final two episodes — “Sticks and Stones” and “I Am Not Alone” — will air on April 24 and May 1, respectively. Of course, as soon as the season comes to an end, many fans will want to go back and rewatch the entire series ahead of season 7. The question is: where can they find all of the Outlander episodes?

Starz confirms Netflix premiere date for ‘Outlander’ season 5

Outlander fans can find the first four seasons of the Starz time-traveling drama starring Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe on Netflix. Soon, subscribers will have access to season 5. The streamer recently announced that Outlander season 5 would drop on May 10, just days after season 6 wraps on Starz.

This premiere date is exactly two years from the day that the season 5 finale aired on Starz. It also matches the previous Netflix releases of seasons 3 and 4. Does this two-year gap mean fans will have to wait until 2024 for the streamer to add season 6?

Season 6 is available on the Starz app

It’s not clear exactly when Outlander season 6 will be available on Netflix, but it is currently available on the Starz app. Fans who have Hulu with a Starz add-on also have access to season 6 episodes. And that’s where they will likely remain until at least next year.

Fans may not have to endure another two-year gap between Netflix releases, though. The pandemic halted production on season 6 for almost a year. That is why the most recent Droughtlander was so lengthy. It’s possible that Netflix will add Outlander season 6 to its catalog as soon as May 2023, but it could be as late as May 2024. Fans will have to wait and see how it plays out.

The biggest reason we think Outlander season 6 will make it to Netflix sooner rather than later is because of the changes that were made to seasons 6 and 7 due to the pandemic.

‘Outlander’ season 7 is already in production

Because of the season 6 production delay, Outlander producers opted to cut the season down to just eight episodes so the series could get back on the air as fast as possible. The good news is that a truncated season 6 means a super-sized season 7.

“We just tried our best to keep everyone safe so we could continue to tell the kind of stories we wanted,” executive producer Maril Davis told Entertainment Tonight. “Our production really did an amazing job … We condensed season 6 and got all the good material in there. And then we’re going to give you a supersized season 7, which will present its own challenges.”

Season 7 will feature a total of 16 episodes, including a few that will touch on storylines from Diana Gabaldon’s sixth book — A Breath of Snow and Ashes — that they weren’t able to fit into season 6.

Heughan recently gave fans an update on social media about season 7, letting them know that the cast and crew was back on set. The best news of all came from Deadline, who reported that showrunner Matthew B. Roberts promised an Outlander season 7 premiere on Starz in “late 2022 or early 2023.”

New episodes of Outlander air Sunday nights on Starz.
