After four seasons and five years, fans said goodbye to the Byrde family as Netflix released the final episodes of Ozark onto the platform on April 29. The series came to a fitting conclusion, despite some frustrating and unexpected twists. But fans do have a couple of questions left over after watching the Ozark finale.

What happened to Three in ‘Ozark’ Season 4?

When a Reddit user asked if fans had any questions after the Ozark finale, one of the main ones was about what happened to Three Langmore. The baby of the Langmore family, Three was often kept in the dark about their crimes to protect him. In Ozark Season 4 Part 2, he becomes aware of Ruth’s intentions to kill Javi Elizonndro and tries to talk her out of it. But Ruth couldn’t see past her rage. She shoots and kills Javi in the very first episode.

When Javi’s mom, Camila, discovered what she did, she tracked Ruth down at home and murdered her. Three was left with no one. Viewers could make the assumption that he’s living in Ruth’s house, surviving off of her money. But the Ozark finale doesn’t outright tell us that.

Who’s going to work at the casino?

Ruth’s death in Ozark also raised the question of who would take over for her at work. While Rachel Garrison appears to be the obvious guess, she also never seemed fully comfortable with all of the parts of the job. Would she be able to do it without Ruth, especially knowing she was killed by the cartel after Ruth’s reassurances? Some fans don’t think so.

“Rachel didn’t want to be involved with the FBI and laundering money,” one fan noted. “Did she even have the cleverness to do so? Was Marty forced back into that role?” One reader said they believe Marty was in fact pulled back into work at the casino, but others pushed back on that.

What happened to Zeke?

Ezekiel “Zeke” Young had spent years in the custody of Darlene Snell until Darlene’s death in the first part of Ozark Season 4. Unable to care for him, Ruth gave Zeke to state officials, begging them not to give him to the Byrdes. It happened to be the last time that viewers ever saw him on the show.

“What happened to Zeke?” one fan wondered. “Did the Byrds eventually try to gain custody? Was he adopted by a random family? Did his grandparents never step in to claim him?” In our minds, Zeke was adopted by a nice family after the Ozark finale, but that’s just us.

A spinoff could resolve the questions left in the ‘Ozark’ finale

Some fans are hoping for a spinoff of Ozark to answer the questions left hanging in the Ozark finale. While nothing has been confirmed so far, showrunner Chris Mundy seems open to the idea.

“It’s definitely something that people have talked about a bunch,” he told TVLine, when asked about a possible Ozark spinoff. “There’s nothing definitive. We’re lucky that people seem to really like the show so there’s obviously going to be some interest there.”

Hopefully, we’ll find out a definitive answer soon. In the meantime, the final season of Ozark is streaming now on Netflix.
