Padma Lakshmi Flies Solo On New Hulu Show
Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi just announced her new foodie show that will be premiering on Hulu this year.
The program will be taking the food writer around the United States to explore the diverse and abundant cuisines found in communities around our nation.
Lakshmi’s new Hulu show
Lakshmi’s new Hulu food series is the first program, let alone series, that the 49-year-old is helming on her own. And she’s clearly delighted about it.
She announced the show’s official title and air date on her Instagram account saying, ” I am so excited to share some news with you all!!! Taste The Nation is a show about what connects us as Americans and as human beings.”
The program takes the Love, Loss, and What We Ate author from state to state exploring the cuisines of America and how food, like nothing else, can unite people.
“It’s a project I’ve spent years developing,” she said in her post. “We traveled across the country visiting indigenous and immigrant communities to find out what American food is today. The process was incredibly emotional and rewarding, a journey I will never forget.”

Lakshmi also has the new season of ‘Top Chef’ on the burner
The former model spoke with Savannah Guthrie last week about the new season of her beloved Top Chef food competition, of which she is host. Unbelievably, it’s already in its seventeenth season. This season sets the others apart by showcasing all-star competitors who have gotten pretty far on previous seasons and are returning for this one to get the top prize, which is now the highest ever, $250,000.
“It’s All-Stars, which is really exciting,” she said of the new season, which was filmed in Los Angeles. “You’re going to know all of the contestants. We have ten finalists and five front-runners, so they all at least have made it to the last part of [the show].”
“So we have a lot going on, we shoot at Griffith Observatory, the Disney Concert Hall, we are at the L.A. Coliseum with all these Olympians, we have Randall Park . . . Kelly Clarkson, I mean, it’s chock full of [guests].”
Her most beloved production just turned 10
The mother of one just celebrated the birthday of her young daughter, who is now ten years old. The single mom observed her little one’s big day with, of course, a post on Instagram.
“Ten years ago my life changed when you came into the world,” she wrote to her daughter, Krishna Thea. “Ten years ago I knew immediately what my life would forever be about.”
Krishna Thea’s father, Adam Dell, has visitation and custody rights with his daughter.
“I am so thankful for you,” Lakshmi continued. “You make me a better woman because of your love and I am over the moon that I get to be your mom. I learn everyday that love is deeper than any of us knows. I can’t wait to watch you grow and blossom.”
