Peaky Blinders Season 6 is coming soon, and fans can’t wait to get an official release date. The new trailer for the finale season shows Thomas Shelby’s up against a number of formidable foes, and we’ll see Paul Anderson return as Arthur Shelby as well. Recently, Anderson posted a throwback photo from the set — and he also dropped a hint regarding the Peaky Blinders Season 6 premiere date.

Arthur Shelby is a fan favorite, and he’ll return in Peaky Blinders Season 6. As Thomas Shelby’s brother, Arthur allows Tommy to make the big decisions, but Arthur’s emotions and rage often get in the way of business. He still has a heart of gold, though, and he looks out for the Shelbys.

Paul Anderson spoke to Den of Geek about his experience playing Arthur. “There’s a sort of vulnerability to him, I think,” Anderson explained. “I always thought that if I’m going to play a violent man, it’s borne out of his upbringing. If I’m going to play that stuff, I’m not going to do just out-and-out unforgiving brutality. I’m going to play it with a little bit of vulnerability, some emotional conscience.”

Anderson also confirmed he speaks with Thomas Shelby actor Cillian Murphy about the scenes they have together. “Some of the stuff is fun and we don’t really need to talk much, we have a kind of understanding, me and Cillian,” he added.

Paul Anderson hints at a February ‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 6 release date with a new Instagram post

The Peaky Blinders Season 6 trailer indicates fans will see the new season in early 2022 — but hopeful viewers are still waiting on an exact date. According to Paul Anderson’s Instagram post, fans won’t have to wait much longer. On Jan. 24, 2022, he posted a throwback photo to Instagram of himself as Arthur Shelby and Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby. They’re both holding prop guns at the camera.

“This is the first-ever image of Tommy and Arthur,” he captioned the post. “We picked these guns up for the first time 10 years ago, and next month we put them down for the last time! Coming soon … PEAKY BLINDERS SEASON 6. [T]hank you to our amazing fans for waiting and for the incredible love over the last decade.”

Within Anderson’s post, he noted “next month” the new season airs, giving the season a February 2022 release date on the BBC network. It’s likely the show will take additional months to reach Netflix.

Peaky Blinders Season 6 marks the final season of the series. So, does Arthur Shelby die? And what will happen to Thomas Shelby and Shelby Company Limited?

Arthur’s had a few close calls in the past, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the final season shows his death. The trailer shows he gets into some trouble, too. One image from the upcoming season shows Arthur semi-conscious lying in a bed with his name carved into his chest, as well as another wound across his forehead.

Additionally, Digital Spy notes Arthur’s estranged wife, Linda Shelby, will return. She was spotted on the set — and they didn’t leave off on good terms. Perhaps Linda will be Arthur’s undoing in the end.
