Peaky Blinders Season 6 is the last of the series, and fans can’t wait to see how it ends for Thomas Shelby and the rest of the Shelby family. The cast hasn’t said too much about the new season. But recently, Thomas Shelby actor Cillian Murphy had an interview where he discussed season 6. And director Anthony Byrne posted a few behind-the-scenes photos of Murphy and the infamous Garrison pub.

The ‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 6 director already gave some insights into the new season

Peaky Blinders Season 6 will follow the tragic events of season 5. In season 5, Aberama Gold died just as he and Polly Gray were set to marry. Additionally, someone betrayed Thomas Shelby and ruined his plan to kill Oswald Mosley, leaving him in a horrible mental state at the season 5 finale.

Going into season 6, Polly Gray actor Helen McCrory isn’t a part of the season due to her death. But the rest of the Shelbys, like Ada, Arthur, and Finn, will return, as will Thomas and Lizzie.

“Yeah, it picks up directly [from season 5],” director Anthony Byrne told Digital Spy. “The very first image you will see will be back in that field, with Tommy with a gun to his head, and then we will move on from there and resolve that amazing moment.”

On Instagram, Byrne described the new season as “gothic,” too. “Tommy Shelby. Light and Dark. A man on the edge of the abyss staring into the void,” he captioned his post of Cillian Murphy. “A word myself and Cillian used a lot during filming was ‘Gothic,’ and this season is very much that.”

Director Anthony Byrne shared behind-the-scenes photos of Cillian Murphy and The Garrison pub

Anthony Byrne added a few new posts to Instagram showing some behind-the-scenes photos from Peaky Blinders Season 6. On Feb. 1, 2022, he posted a photo of himself next to Cillian Murphy. They’re both bundled in warm clothing, though it’s clear Murphy has on his Thomas Shelby garb.

“We took over Castlefield in Manchester and turned it into Garrison Lane,” Byrne captioned the post. “You’ll be seeing more of it very very soon. And lots more images from behind the scenes.”

Also at the beginning of February, Byrne posted a black-and-white image of himself behind The Garrison pub. “Working lunch at the bar in The Garrison,” he captioned the post. “Sitting down is rarely an option and lunch is always on the go.”

Fans of the show remember when Tommy bought The Garrison in season 2, and Arthur became the owner. The pub was destroyed but later rebuilt.

Is The Garrison pub in Peaky Blinders real? The location reportedly has a rich, real-life history. According to Warm Welcome, rumors claim the real-life Peaky Blinders visited The Garrison Tavern in Small Heath — but the pub shut down for business in 2014.

With Peaky Blinders Season 6 on the horizon, fans want to know how it all ends. Does Thomas Shelby die? Will Oswald Mosley finally go down?

Director Anthony Byrne and creator Steven Knight won’t tell fans exactly what to expect. But Knight did give a clue as to how Peaky Blinders Season 6 ends. “My ambition is to make it a story of a family between two wars, so always I’ve wanted to end it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in 1939,” he told Digital Spy.

While season 6 is the last for the show, it’s not the end of the road for the Shelbys. Knight has plans for a film to begin production in 2023, according to Variety.
