Fans are eager to hear more about Peaky Blinders Season 6. Show creator Steven Knight promised viewers another season of Thomas Shelby and the rest of the Shelby family, but years passed since season 5’s release. Additionally, the cast hasn’t talked much about what’s to come in the next installment. Now, it seems fans finally get a glimmer of the future, as the official Peaky Blinders Twitter page mentioned season 6.

Is ‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 6 the last?

Is Peaky Blinders over once the new season hits? While fans would love to see Shelby Company Limited influencing Birmingham, England, with Thomas Shelby at the helm, all good things must end. Knight and the rest of the show creators noted Peaky Blinders Season 6 marks the final season of the series.

Peaky is back and with a bang,” Knight said, according to Entertainment Weekly. “After the enforced production delay due to the COVID pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.”

The official Twitter left a clue about the ‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 6 release date

So, when can fans expect to see Peaky Blinders Season 6 release? The official Twitter page for the show hasn’t revealed many clues for fans. But on Sept. 17, 2021, the Twitter page posted a photo of director Anthony Byrne with editor Paul Knight working hard on new footage. Byrne placed his finger to his lips as if to tell fans to keep the release a secret.

“Editor at work,” the tweet states. “Tommy Shelby back on our screens in #PeakyBlinders series 6, coming 2022.”

Additionally, Steven Knight teased the upcoming season’s release at the BFI London Film Festival. According to express.co.uk, the new season could hit the BBC in spring 2022, which likely means anywhere from March to May 2022. And Conrad Khan, a newcomer to the Peaky Blinders cast, noted he suspects fans will see the new season by February 2022.

While Peaky Blinders Season 6 marks the final season for the show, show creator Knight noted the story will continue. While speaking at the BFI London Film Festival, Knight talked about the movie that will go into production in 2023.

“And then I am going to write the feature which will be set in and shot in Birmingham,” Knight said, according to Variety. “And that will probably be the sort of the end of the road for Peaky Blinders as we know it.”

Knight also mentioned the possibility of other shows set in the Peaky Blinders universe, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll take part in creating those. Instead, he wants to “pass the baton” to other writers to continue the Shelby family legacy while he will likely conclude his involvement with the film.
