Fans are more excited than ever for Peaky Blinders Season 6 now that the premiere date is on the horizon. The trailer shows Thomas Shelby and the rest of the Shelby family in conflict with a number of potential enemies. And given the Peaky Blinders Season 5 finale cliffhanger, we can’t wait to see what happens. It looks like fans can look forward to a long series finale, too. The last episode of season 6 will reportedly have a “feature-length” finale.

Fans can’t wait to hear more about Peaky Blinders Season 6. The trailer shows a number of favorite characters, like Thomas Shelby, Arthur Shelby, Ada Shelby, Michael Gray, and Gina Gray will return. Oswald Mosley is back, too. This means Tommy will more than likely keep gunning for the same enemy he attempted to assassinate in Peaky Blinders Season 5. Additionally, fans need to know how Tommy gets himself out of the mental state he was in during the last season finale.

Reddit users found evidence that the new season will have six episodes total. These episodes will be the final ones of the entire series. According to an article cited by Reddit, ” … this stage of the story will now wrap up over six episodes, including a feature-length finale.”

This means fans can anticipate a finale longer than the typical 60 minutes per episode.

“Feature-length to the BBC means 90 minutes,” a Reddit user explained.

A feature film will follow the Shelby family after the end of the series

After Peaky Blinders Season 6 ends, fans can look forward to a movie to carry on the Shelby family story.

“And then I am going to write the feature which will be set in and shot in Birmingham,” show creator Steven Knight said at the BFI London Film Festival panel, according to Variety. “And that will probably be the sort of the end of the road for Peaky Blinders as we know it.”

While Knight is ready to throw in the towel with his Peaky Blinders involvement, he noted he’s willing to allow other writers to create “shows related” to the original series. But he doesn’t necessarily want anything to do with them. Instead, he said he’s ready to “pass on the baton” to other writers who know and love the Shelbys.

The Peaky Blinders film will begin shooting in 2023.

So, when can fans expect to see the Peaky Blinders Season 6 premiere date? The BBC hasn’t given an official date just yet, but Arthur Shelby actor Paul Anderson left a clue on Instagram that the season begins in February 2022.

“This is the first-ever image of Tommy and Arthur,” Anderson wrote in January 2022. “We picked these guns up for the first time 10 years ago, and next month we put them down for the last time! Coming soon … PEAKY BLINDERS SEASON 6. [T]hank you to our amazing fans for waiting and for the incredible love over the last decade.”

With that said, Paul Knight, an editor on the show, posted a photo to Instagram that might indicate the production team is still editing Peaky Blinders Season 6. This could mean fans won’t see the premiere until the end of February 2022 at the earliest.
