Phineas and Ferb showed fans that there’s actually a lot you can do during 104 days of summer vacation. Although this Disney Channel series came to an end after over 200 episodes, thanks to Disney’s streaming platform, viewers will finally see what brother duo, Phineas and Ferb, are up to nowadays.

Here’s what we know about the upcoming Disney+ original (and exclusive) movie, Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe.

The Disney Channel original series, ‘Phineas and Ferb’ is available on Disney+

These two brothers went on a few iconic adventures together, as did their adorable double-agent platypus named Perry. Now, about five years since the finale of Phineas and Ferb, the duo’s sister is finally getting her moment in the spotlight.

It’s been a while since Disney announced they would be creating a Phineas and Ferb spinoff. Despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, though, this project, a full-length film expected to premiere exclusively on Disney’s streaming platform, is still debuting right on schedule — summer 2020.

A new ‘Phineas and Ferb’ movie is coming to Disney’s streaming platform

Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe features almost all of the original voice cast reprised their roles, including Ashley Tisdale, Vincent Martella, Alyson Stoner, and Olivia Olson.

Some fans expect new songs that are equally as catchy as “Squirrels in My Pants.” Others are ready for plenty of “Easter Eggs” and maybe even a blast from the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s nostalgia-inator.

“It’s a tightrope walk when you have a whole generation of [fans] that you know are going to tune into this, and you want to give them stuff, but you also want to give the new people something that they can they can digest,” creator Dan Povenmire said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly

“But we just wanted to make sure that the people who grew up with Phineas and Ferb would love the movie,” he continued. “We’re hoping that this show gets watched in college dorm rooms all over the country.”
