Fans are more than ready for Power Book IV: Force. The TV show is gearing up to release its first season and with it comes an answer to the question fans have had since the end of the original series: Where exactly is Tommy Egan going?

The fan-favorite character decided to leave New York in the Power series finale, but he doesn’t reveal everything he has planned. No exact release date for the show has been announced, but we just got word that it’s officially coming in 2022.

What we know about the show

Out of all of the Power spinoffs, Power creator and showrunner Courtney Kemp told Entertainment Weekly she considers Tommy’s the ultimate “crowd-pleaser.”

“It’s Tommy, come on now,” she said. “People are getting hungry,” added Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy Egan. As far as what to expect, Sikora said the series would showcase “a different side, different city, different rules, but the same Tommy.”

“It’s really f—ing good,” he added.

“Remember, he left New York with nothing,” Sikora previously said Instagram Live. “He left New York with a bunch of money, some guns, some burners, and that’s it. Just everything he had on his person. So you’re gonna watch Tommy rebuild himself in real-time.”

He continued, “We know that Tommy is on his way to Cali, and we know that this show at least presently is being filmed in Chicago. But we don’t know how much is filmed before he gets here, and we don’t know if he’s gonna make it out of here.”

“I think that it’s going to take all facets of Tommy that we’ve built up to until now to not only survive but to potentially thrive — and to potentially leave,” he added to Entertainment Weekly. “You don’t know if it’s going to be one city and then another city and if he’s going to keep bopping or what connections need to be made.”

“But what does need to happen is that we need to see how fast or how slow Tommy analyzes and adapts to a new situation,” Sikora went on. “Is gangster the same all over America? Or is there a specific gangster out of New York? Is that able to adapt? I think we’re going to have a lot of Capone references.”

Per Entertainment Weekly, the show is slated for a 2022 premiere.

Who is in the cast of ‘Power Book IV: Force?’

Aside from Sikora, the cast of Power Book IV: Force includes Lili Simmons (Ray Donovan), Kris D. Lofton (Empire), Isaac Keys (Get Shorty), Anthony Fleming (Prison Break), Gabrielle Ryan (The Haves and the Have Nots), Lucien Cambric (The Chi), Tommy Flanagan (Sons of Anarchy), Shane Harper (Hightown), and artist Jeremih (via Deadline).

There’s also a good chance that more Power actors will show up. As Kemp told Entertainment Weekly: “We are patterning it after Marvel, where different characters come in and out of other people’s shows. So there’s crossovers and some of your favorite characters will come back, even if they don’t get their own spin-off, they will show up in places. We’re trying to really do it for the fans, to give the most of what they want.”

Before the premiere of ‘Power Book IV: Force,’ Starz will air at least two spinoffs

The next spinoff to air is Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which focuses on the younger years of Kanan Stark, who died in the original series in a shootout with the police. The series will premiere on Starz at 8 p.m ET on Sunday, July 18.

After that, Power Book II: Ghost will return with its second season, which picks up after the murder of Professor Jabari Reynolds. For more of a breakdown on that, check out more of our coverage here.
