Tommy Egan’s Power Book IV: Force is arguably one of the most exciting Power spinoffs. Beginning after the events at the end of Power, the TV show focuses on Tommy as he tries to deal with the loss of his best friend and business partner, James “Ghost” St. Patrick. Adapting to life without Ghost was initially a struggle. But now that Tommy is settled in Chicago and has his new Dahlia product going, things are starting to look up for him.

Though there were signs that this season of the show would run without interruption, it turns out Power Book IV: Force Episode 9 is delayed. Find out when the show will return, below.

There’s a delay between ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Season 1 Episodes 9 and 10

Power Book IV: Force usually airs new episodes each Sunday on Starz, but there’s a break this week, executive producer 50 Cent confirmed. Writing on Instagram, 50 Cent noted that the show would be back with its ninth episode on Sunday, April 10. He did not go into detail about the reason for the delay, but suggested it was a Starz decision.

“Now you see why I was mad? Smh They don’t understand the audience, I know what time is,” he captioned the post.

The delay seems to add to his growing frustration with the network, which is home to all of the Power spinoffs and several of his other shows. 50 constantly calls out Starz for its business and creative decisions, even threatening to leave the network earlier in the year. It’s rare that Starz responds, but sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch was trying to keep 50 around by coming up with a new overall deal for the rapper.

What’s coming after ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Season 1 Episode 10?

The Power Book IV: Force Season 1 finale will air on April 17. Then, according to 50, he won’t have any new shows coming on Starz for sixth months.

It was previously believed that the show would be immediately followed by the next season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, the Kanan Stark prequel. However, 50 said the “production timeline” got pushed back because Starz took so “long to greenlight” Power Book IV: Force Season 2. The show launched in February but unlike some of the other spinoffs, it took several episodes until Starz renewed it.

“I’m sorry they messed up the flow,” 50 added in another Instagram post.

Still, it could be back in 2022

50 did not say when Raising Kanan would return, but a 2022 release date still seems likely considering that it’s already so close to completion.

“I don’t have a date, but I can tell you they are shooting the finale right now,” Power creator and showrunner Courtney Kemp said on Instagram in February.

“We had to push part of the season because of COVID,” Kemp continued. “The Omicron surge made us have to delay the beginning of [Power Book II: Ghost Season 3] and take a break in the middle of Raising Kanan Season 2. It’s going to be on a little later as a result, but like a tiny bit. And I think it’s actually more going to affect the second half of the season, but not that much.”

In the meantime, fans can find Force out now on Starz.
