All about ‘Property Brothers’

Property Brothers is a television series that stars Drew Scott and his twin brother, Jonathan. Scott is a real estate expert who looks for homes for clients, and his brother renovates them to get exactly what the homeowners want.

The purpose of the show is to help homebuyers find the perfect house and make it their own. However, it usually gets done on a strict budget and schedule. The two brothers told HGTV that they show people how to get the most out of their small budget.

“We’re giving them that hope that they could live a life that they want to live,” Scott said. He and his brother believe that every home has the potential to be beautiful. Once homebuyers determine what house to buy and what they want in it, the brothers get to work.

Not only do homeowners get to have their new houses renovated, but they keep all the furniture as well. The brothers will even incorporate sentimental pieces into the house’s design.

Other projects Drew Scott worked on

While Property Brothers has been a long-time staple on HGTV, it is not Scott’s only project. He had explored acting before becoming a TV reality star. He had a guest role on the show Smallville. He also played himself in Playing House

Scott and his brother wrote their first book in 2016 titled Dream Home: The Property Brothers’ Ultimate Guide to Finding & Fixing Your Perfect House. They also wrote a memoir together. It Takes Two: Our Story details how the siblings rose to fame.

Scott has worked on multiple spinoffs, such as Buying and Selling and Brother vs. Brother. He also helped produce Property Brothers: Forever Home. There is more in store for Drew since HGTV has plans for him and Jonathan. Some of their plans include a podcast and a magazine.

Scott has made it known that he is an expert when it comes to real estate. Part of his job on the show is finding the right house for homeowners to buy and renovate. However, some viewers wonder how long he has been a real estate agent.

Scott is a licensed real estate agent. According to Real Estate Magazine, he got his license back in 2004. He and his brother created an investment company called Scott Real Estate that same year. The TV host has been a realtor for about 16 years.

However, Scott gained real estate experience before getting licensed. He started working in the industry when he was 18 years old. He and Jonathan purchased their first home while they were still students at the University of Calgary.

They then rented out rooms to students for $800 a month. For several years, he had used local realtors to invest in residential properties. Realtors often told them that certain investments were impossible. Eventually, Scott got his license after proving them wrong multiple times, and it has clearly served him well.
