Over the past few years, there have been so many changes among the royal family members. We celebrated the arrival of several babies, saw a few people get married, and even experienced the shock of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex stepping down from their royal duties.

One of the things that have constantly been making headlines is the supposed rift between Princes William and Prince Harry. It has been going on for quite some time, and fans are disappointed, to say the least.

It seems like only yesterday that the royal brothers were as close and can be and now, they are living thousands of miles apart and their relationship is completely different from what it once was. For months now, people everywhere have been wishing that Prince Harry and Prince William could find a way to repair their broken bond and get back to the way things once were.

After all, they have always been such an important part of each other’s lives, and it is heartbreaking to see what is happening. Let’s talk about how Queen Elizabeth reportedly wanted to use Princess Beatrice’s wedding to patch things up between Prince William and Prince Harry.

For their entire lives, Prince William and Prince Harry had a closeness that words just couldn’t describe. They were best friends, to say the least, and that friendship carried on well into adulthood.

Even after Prince William married Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry became known as the world’s most “famous third wheel,” since the three of them were known to make appearances together all the time.

However, after the younger prince met American actress Meghan, the relationship between the brothers quickly took a downturn. What happened? According to Cosmopolitan, it all began a few years ago.

Prince William, who famously waited seven years before proposing to Kate, expressed his concern about Meghan and Prince Harry’s whirlwind relationship. Prince Harry got quite upset with his brother, and there has been tension ever since.

With the brothers living on different continents, there probably aren’t many chances for them to get together in person, and even Queen Elizabeth knows that. Her majesty was actually hoping that when Princess Beatrice got married, Prince William and Prince Harry would be able to sit down and talk at the wedding, and hopefully find a way to put their differences aside.

A source told US Weekly the monarch “is firmly of the opinion that this nonsense cannot and must not continue any longer” and “she wants the boys to sit and resolve their differences like grown adults.”

US Weekly reports that the queen was going to use Princess Beatrice’s nuptials as a way for her grandsons to “resolve their differences,” hoping that the family could finally get back to normal. She, just like everyone else, knows that this royal rift has been going on for far too long, and felt that the wedding would have been the perfect place for Prince Harry and Prince William to sit down in person and fix things between them.

The pandemic didn’t allow things to happen as planned

The current COVID-19 pandemic has been throwing everyone for a loop regarding just about everything, and Beatrice’s wedding was no different. According to Insider, the princess was all set to marry Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi back in May, however, the government mandated that all gatherings be socially distanced.

Chances are, it would have been a pretty big wedding, which would have made it next to impossible for everyone to follow the guidelines, and because of this, the wedding was postponed. The couple finally able to tie the knot in a small, surprise ceremony earlier in the summer, which took place in Windsor.

The queen and a few other family members were in attendance, but unfortunately, due to the circumstances, Prince Harry wasn’t able to be there, so the reconciliation wasn’t able to happen. Hopefully, Prince Harry and Prince William will find a way to get together in the near future, and they will work things out between them once and for all.
