Sarah and Bryan Baeumler first got the idea to renovate a place on South Andros Island when they visited in 2017. Country Living reminds us they found the 18-room, 22-villa vacation resort while there — and they wanted to take it to the next level to create their own slice of paradise that others could visit. After running the idea by HGTV, the couple attained their show, Renovation Island, to track their progress.

The couple was able to open the doors to Caerula Del Mar in April 2019. Unfortunately, they hit trouble early with Hurricane Dorian. The hurricane, which hit in August 2019, caused some of their employees to lose everything, though the resort itself remained intact. Doors reopened in February 2020 — just in time for coronavirus (COVID-19). Bryan and Sarah closed the resort in March 2020.

So, how is Renovation Island doing today in 2022? Bryan and Sarah reopened Caerula Del Mar in October 2020 with new coronavirus protocols in place. They offered coronavirus testing to guests and now require all unvaccinated to arrive with a negative test, according to their Instagram post published on June 16, 2022. With this in mind, it seems the business is doing well with the new health measures.

‘Renovation Island’ Season 3 is coming

The last season of Renovation Island wrapped up in August 2021, and fans want more information on Renovation Island Season 3. After season 2 wrapped, Bryan Baeumler confirmed HGTV already started filming the following season.

“Guess What!!!!” Bryan announced via Instagram on Aug. 30, 2021. “We’re already filming the next season of Island of Bryan and Renovation Island!!!,” he wrote alongside the video he shared of a home mid-renovation. (Renovation Island airs as Island of Bryan on HGTV Canada.)”

HGTV hasn’t set a date for the return of Renovation Island just yet. But it’s possible fans will see new episodes in summer 2022. Bryan posted on April 10, 2022, that Island of Bryan was available for Canadian fans to view already.
