‘Resident Alien’ Season 2 introduces a new major character before the finale

After Harry is sent an alien phone number, he and Asta ventured to New York to find Goliath. Despite finding Goliath’s murals and someone who knew him, Violinda Darvell, Harry and Asta got more than they bargained for. Asta learns from Violinda that Goliath is dead and shows her his solidified alien body.

Violinda explains Goliath was unable to survive on Earth after so many years. Asta believes humanity’s only chance of survival is now gone. When Asta finds Harry after his LSD trip, she tells him the truth. Once hearing Asta saw Goliath’s alien body, solidified, and standing upright, Harry had a shocking moment of realization.

He and Asta revisit Violinda at the gallery. Harry breaks Goliath’s body to reveal a ginormous alien egg. Violinda reveals Goliath used her DNA to procreate an alien/human child. When Lisa Cooper tries to steal it, Violinda leaves the egg with Harry, believing it was Goliath’s wish.

After Asta and Harry return to Patience, Colorado, the episode ends on a cliffhanger. The egg begins to hatch, leaving a continuing storyline for Resident Alien Season 2’s mid-season finale.

‘Resident Alien’ showrunner says episode eight is a mini finale

After the events in episode seven, some fans were dishearted to realize episode eight is the finale of Resident Alien Season 2. But in actuality, it’s not. According to Collider, Sheridan explained the episode would be a mid-season finale.

“Season two is more than 10 episodes,” said Sheridan. “The first half of season two is eight episodes. I think the plan is a lot depends on COVID, but it’s split into two halves. The first half will be eight. I think the second half will hopefully be eight. “

Sheridan explained they were uncertain how filming would go but is hopeful Resident Alien Season 2 will end with 16 episodes. The showrunner explains he wrote the season with a mid-season finale in mind but reveals it was difficult to create. The first season was 10 episodes, and Sheridan explains the storyline structure for a longer season if “different.”

“The problem you have with more episodes is you run the risk of treading water for a while,” said the showrunner. Sheridan decided to split the season and end both halves on a cliffhanger to avoid fans getting bored.
