Many wonder what the second movie will be about, and Pattinson is already throwing his two cents in regarding the film’s plot.

Robert Pattinson makes a bold prediction about ‘The Batman’ sequel

Zoë Kravitz, Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano, and Jeffrey Wright read and reacted to different The Batman fan theories for Vanity Fair. And one of the hypotheses included the Court of Owls and Bruce Wayne’s parents. “I think Thomas and Martha were the leaders of the Court of Owls in this timeline,” the fan theory read.

“If they disappear when, kind of, they’re secretly running it, that would really, really be a very, very difficult thing for Bruce to handle,” Pattinson commented. “Oh, it would be a nightmare.”

The actor added, “I was definitely, kind of, thinking Court of Owls is probably gonna be in the sequel. It definitely seems like it.”

Dano immediately responded, “Ooo, don’t say it!” And Pattinson said, “Well, I mean, I am literally just guessing. I just keep saying it.”

Did Robert Pattinson accidentally spoil The Batman sequel? Or is he just innocently sharing his hopes for the second movie? Only time will tell.

What is the Court of Owls?

The Court of Owls, which Robert Pattinson believes will be in The Batman sequel, is a secret society of wealthy Gotham citizens in DC Comics. They often have run-ins with Batman due to their crimes.

Gotham has been full of powerful, corrupt people for many years, and they came together to form the Court of Owls in colonial times. In the comics, the society would kidnap children from the circus and train them to be agents known as Talons. Some people would write them off as a conspiracy theory, but the Court of Owls is real. They wield their money and influence to gain more power and commit crimes.

If Thomas and Martha Wayne were Court of Owls members in The Batman, then Robert Pattinson is right — Bruce would be devastated.

Matt Reeves confirmed a sequel for ‘The Batman’ was in the works before Robert Pattinson did

While walking the red carpet of The Batman premiere in London, director Matt Reeves told The Independent that a sequel is in the works.

“You don’t make [movie] number one as if there’s going to be number two,” Reeves stated. “You have to make number one as if you are swinging for the fences, and it has to be a movie that stands and lives on its own. But I really believe in what we’ve done.”

He added, “And I’d be excited to tell more stories, and we are already telling other stories in the streaming space. We’re doing stuff on HBO Max. We’re doing a Penguin show with Colin [Farrell], which is going to be super cool. And we’re doing some other stuff too, but we have started talking about another movie. But right now, we’ll just put it out in the world. I’ll try to enjoy this.”

The Batman premieres exclusively in theaters on March 4.
